Oct 23, 2014 7:58 PM

Doug Whaley denied speculation that the Buffalo Bills have received trade offers for C.J. Spiller.

"We have not been contacted by any team about C.J. Spiller," Whaley said, per the team's official website. "These rumors are news to me. It's exciting, I guess, to you guys because it gives you something to fill the newspaper with."

There were reports that Chip Kelly called the Bills in March on Spiller two months before the club tried to trade up for Carlos Hyde.

Bills To Still Give Most Carries To Spiller, Jackson

Sep 27, 2014 4:10 AM

The Buffalo Bills traded for Bryce Brown and also signed Anthony Dixon this offseason, but Doug Marrone plans to continue featuring a two-back system with C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson.

"I don’t know if I want to get it down to three. I’ve never been a guy that has three backs playing in the game," Marrone said. "I’ve always believed, and you guys know, in the two backs. It’ll come down to two backs; the two backs going in there."

Marrone has used three backs in the past, but Spiller and Jackson should still see most of the carries.
