Fred Jackson Out One Month With Groin Injury

Oct 23, 2014 1:39 AM

Fred Jackson could miss up to one month with a groin injury.

The injury will not require surgery.

"It's not as bad as it could have been," Jackson said in a weekly appearance Monday on WGR 550 in Buffalo. "It's typically a four-week injury. But we'll try to do some things to get it sped up.

"I like to think of myself as somebody who can come back before typical. It's just gonna be on me to get in there and rehab and see the team doctors and do what it is they want me to do."

Mike Williams' Agent Seeks Trade From Bills

Oct 13, 2014 5:24 PM

Mike Williams' agent has requested permission from the Buffalo Bills to gauge interest for a trade.

Doug Whaley said that the Bills will entertain offers, but are not actively shopping Williams.

"I said, 'We like Mike Williams. We expect him back and we expect big things from him,'" Whaley said. "But like anybody, if he gets us compensation worthy of a No. 1 wide receiver -- which he claimed he is -- then we would entertain it.

"He's taken it as permission, but I see it as, anybody on this team, we have to do our due diligence, and if there's somebody out there that is willing to give us compensation that we think is fair, and would help us in the long run, we would entertain it. That doesn't say we're gonna do it, but we would entertain it."

Williams was inactive on Sunday.

Williams has eight catches for 142 yards and one touchdowns in five games this season for the Bills.

Mike Williams Deactivated, Nameplate Removed From Bills' Locker Room

Oct 31, 2014 11:45 AM

Mike Williams posted a backward photo of his jersey on Instagram along with a caption that said he was deactivated for Sunday's game for the Buffalo Bills. The caption on the photo included "#wastedJersey."

At some point Sunday afternoon, Williams removed the photo from Instagram. Meanwhile, his nameplate in the locker room was also apparently removed.

"Mike Williams' situation was really a tough call. It wasn't really the direction that we probably would have gone. What happened late in the week, we didn't really realize until about Friday night that Kyle Williams was going to be able to play. So by that time, we had put so much in game plan-wise for [the] three-tight end package that we practiced quite a bit that we played today with our tight ends playing. When you look through the roster, you have to say to yourself, 'OK, you're not going to not play Kyle [Williams], if he's healthy.' So we started to go through and see where we were banged up a little bit, where we needed guys to play, where we needed special teams, where we needed -- you know, you go through all those different scenarios and it's not an easy decision. We went with that decision. The process to go about it, we were really surprised that [Kyle Williams] was able to play, which was good. I brought Mike in on Saturday and told him I needed him to do this for the team. I said it's not a great situation, but due to the special teams and everything we needed to cover, we talked to him and he handled it like a pro. And he'll be ready to go next week."
