Holcomb To Start In Place Of Losman

Aug 3, 2014 3:11 AM

Kelly Holcomb will start for the Buffalo Bills at quarterback against Denver on Saturday in place of the injured J.P. Losman. Coach Mike Mularkey made the announcement Wednesday after Losman missed his second straight practice. He hurt his right shoulder and left leg in the 35-7 loss to New England last Sunday but continued playing. The game Saturday is Buffalo's home finale. The Bills (4-9) are already out of playoff contention and face a Broncos team (10-3) that needs a win to clinch a playoff berth. Losman watched the team practice inside Ralph Wilson Stadium in subfreezing temperatures. It's not clear when he was hurt against the Patriots, but he was sacked twice and knocked down numerous times by a blitz-happy Patriots defense.

McGahee Comes Back After Blow To Head

Jul 13, 2014 5:46 PM

Bills running back Willis McGahee overcame a blow to the head, returning for the start of the second half of Buffalo's game against New England on Sunday. McGahee was hurt in the second quarter when he went down to block Patriots' defensive lineman Richard Seymour, who had burst up the middle deep in Buffalo territory. McGahee upended Seymour, but was struck in the helmet by Seymour's left knee. McGahee lay on the field for about four minutes. He required help getting up and was woozy as he was escorted to the sideline. McGahee had five carries for 4 yards before he was hurt, and had a carry for 1 yard to start the third quarter.

Moulds Suspended One Game Without Pay

Aug 3, 2014 11:34 PM

Bills receiver Eric Moulds was suspended without pay for Sunday's game against the Patriots, apparently for a sideline dispute with an assistant coach during last week's loss to Miami. "Eric hasn't practiced this week so he won't be ready to play Sunday. He is suspended for one game without pay," owner Ralph Wilson said Thursday after a meeting with Moulds and head coach Mike Mularkey. "From there on, he'll be back and will play the final three games of the season, which I hope we'll do better than we have so far." Wilson had no other comment on the suspension; Moulds and Mularkey did not comment. Mularkey had barred Moulds from practice the last two days. Mularkey would not say why he was punishing Moulds, but it's believed to stem from an argument between the player and receivers coach Tyke Tolbert during Buffalo's 24-23 loss at Miami.

Moulds Suspended By Bills

Oct 31, 2014 6:09 AM

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills receiver Eric Moulds will be suspended by coach Mike Mularkey for undisclosed reasons. Mularkey told Moulds, who was shocked and confused, of his plan to suspend him during a meeting Monday, a source told The Associated Press. ESPN.com's John Clayton reports that Moulds will be suspended for one game -- Sunday's home game against the Patriots. The final decision will be up to team owner Ralph Wilson, The Buffalo News reported Wednesday. Bills spokesman Scott Berchtold said he expected Mularkey to address Moulds' status during his weekly news conference later Wednesday.
