Ronald Darby, Washington Agree Upon One-Year, $4M Deal

The Washington Redskins have agreed to a one-year, $4 million deal with Ronald Darby, according to a source.

Washington had a need at cornerback after cutting Josh Norman and trading Quinton Dunbar.

Darby missed 28 of a possible 48 games over the past three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Seattle Acquires Quinton Dunbar From Washington

The Seattle Seahawks are trading a fifth-round pick to the Washington Redskins for Quinton Dunbar, according to a report.

Dunbar, 27, spent four seasons as a reserve before becoming a starter in 2019.

He was rated as the second-best cornerback in coverage and overall by Pro Football Focus.

The Carolina Panthers have traded Kyle Allen to Washington for a fifth round pick.

Washington wasn't interested in acquiring Cam Newton, who also played for Ron Rivera. Washington wants to develop Dwayne Haskins and sought a quarterback who can compete with him but also can serve as a backup.

Allen started 12 games last season with the Panthers.

Amari Cooper has agreed to re-sign with the Dallas Cowboys on a five-year, $100 million deal.

Cooper was acquired by the Cowboys from the then-Oakland Raiders in 2018.

Washington attempted to sign Cooper on Monday, but he ultimately decided to remain with the Cowboys.

Cooper's deal includes $60 million in guaranteed money.

Washington Gives Permission To Trent Williams To Seek Trade

Washington has given Trent Williams permission to seek a trade.

"Trent is excited to resume his Pro Bowl career with a team interested in a player of his stature," Williams' agent, Vincent Taylor, told The Athletic. "We really appreciate and respect [owner] Dan Snyder for the chance to seek another opportunity. This isn't about a contract, but time for a change of scenery."

Williams hopes his tenure with Washington ends soon.
