Vince Young threw a pair of touchdown passes and the Tennessee Titans kept New Orleans winless, beating the Saints 31-14 Monday night before a Superdome crowd that showered boos on the same players who provided such a pick-me-up to the devastated city a year ago.

Titans QB Vince Young was fined $7,500 for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in last Sunday's loss to Indianapolis. The NFL fined Young for throwing the ball at Colts DB Kelvin Hayden just before halftime and it cost the team 15 yards. Hayden had pushed at Young's head, and the Q responded by tossing the ball toward the ground at Hayden's feet. Young declined to comment on the fine during Saturday's practice before Tennessee's Monday night game in New Orleans.

The Tennessee Titans are expected to announce a four-year contract extension for coach Jeff Fisher on Monday. A team official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed to the Associated Press that the agreement will add four years to Fisher's contract. It is expected to be officially announced Monday afternoon and put Fisher with Denver's Mike Shanahan and Seattle's Mike Holmgren as the league's highest paid coaches.

The Tennessee Titans acquired DE Bryce Fisher for an undisclosed draft pick in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks today. Fisher joins the Titans after spending the last two seasons in Seattle. Prior to joining the Seahawks, he played three seasons with the St. Louis Rams (2002-2004) and one campaign with the Buffalo Bills (2001). ?He has a lot of the attributes that you look for in a base defensive end - someone who plays the run, has the ability to rush the passer and can play either side,? said Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt. ?I expect him to fit well in our system and add to the depth that we are building in the defensive line.? ?This is a good addition to our team in a number of ways,? said Titans head coach Jeff Fisher. ?He has been a productive and durable player through the years and a player that we have had interest in for a number of years. I look forward to adding him to our defensive line mix.?

Tennessee's running attack hardly missed Travis Henry. Chris Brown ran for 175 yards, Vince Young and LenDale White combined for another 88 on the ground and the Titans ran roughshod over the Jacksonville Jaguars, opening their season with a 13-10 victory Sunday.

Texas freshman quarterback John Chiles has yet to play a down, but he's already drawing impossible-to-live-up-to comparisons to Vince Young. The latest came Thursday from Cleve Bryant, Mack Brown's right-hand man for operations, in a speech to the Austin Longhorn Club on Thursday. "John Chiles, in my opinion, is ahead of where Vince Young was as a freshman," Bryant said. Of course, Vince didn't play his freshman year. He redshirted. And Chiles, who was elevated to Colt McCoy's primary backup after Harris was injured in preseason drills, did not play last week against Arkansas State. "He's really making progress," Bryant said of Chiles. "He will make some contributions before the end of the season."
