Tennessee defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth made it through most of practice Wednesday for the first time since hurting his right hamstring on Nov. 4.
"We backed him down a little bit, but he's improving," Titans' Coach Jeff Fisher said of Haynesworth. "The big thing for him is how he's going to feel tomorrow."
Haynesworth has missed three straight games, all losses by Tennessee. The tackle said he still can feel the hamstring problem and has been surprised at how much the injury has lingered.
"We're getting better, definitely getting better. It's just a day-by-day thing. Hopefully, tomorrow will be even better, and I can go out there and practice again and not be sore," he said.
The Titans have been cautious, refusing to rush Haynesworth back at the risk of losing him in the final weeks of the season.

Titans Sign WR Mike Williams
Former first-round wide receiver Mike Williams, the 10th overall choice in the 2005 draft but a disappointment with two different franchises during less than three full seasons in the NFL, will get a third chance to prove himself.
Williams on Thursday signed with the Tennessee Titans, who had auditioned him a few weeks ago, and who apparently feel that the former Southern California star can still fulfill his big-time potential. The move reunites Williams with former USC Offensive Coordinator Norm Chow, who holds the same position with the Titans and who team officials hope can motivate the wide receiver.
The Oakland Raiders, who acquired Williams from the Detroit Lions on the second day of this year's draft, released him on Oct. 30.
Titans' Henry Drops Appeal
Titans' running back Chris Henry on Wednesday dropped his appeal and began serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Titans' Coach Jeff Fisher said the appeal will go into effect immediately.
Titans Looking Into Pacman-Haynesworth 'Incident'
Tennessee Coach Jeff Fisher said Tuesday he's gathering facts about a weekend incident between suspended cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones and defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.
"It doesn't appear to me to be anything of substance," Fisher said. "I'm not going to dwell on it. If I get more information, I'll deal with it in-house."
Metro Nashville Police Department public relations assistant Amy Raines said officers were not involved in investigating any incident between Jones and Haynesworth over the weekend.
Jones has been suspended for the season for violating the league's personal conduct policy, and Commissioner Roger Goodell turned down his appeal for leniency earlier this month.
Big Plays Spark Broncos To Win Over Titans
Jay Cutler passed for two long touchdowns while Glenn Martinez returned a punt 80 yards as the Broncos' big plays helped them to a 34-20 victory over the Titans on Monday.
Cutler connected with Brandon Stokley for a 48-yard touchdown to open the game, then threw 41 yards to Brandon Marshall for a third-quarter score as the Broncos improved to 5-5 and gained a share of the AFC West lead.
Titans' Haynesworth And Harper Will Be Game-Time Decisions
Defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth and cornerback Nick Harper missed their fourth practice Saturday and are game-time decisions for Monday night's clash at Denver.
Haynesworth has not practiced since hurting his right hamstring Nov. 4 in a 20-7 win over Carolina in which he had a career-high three sacks. Harper suffered a concussion in last week's 28-13 loss to Jacksonville and has not practiced. He had an MRI on Friday.
"Everything was fine," Coach Jeff Fisher said.
If Harper can't play, he likely would be replaced by Reynaldo Hill, a seventh-round pick in 2005 who was the starter opposite Adam "Pacman" Jones. Right tackle David Stewart (ankle) practiced Saturday for the first time this week, and left guard Benji Olson practiced after sitting out Friday in a team decision. Fisher said Stewart is improving and will have a chance to play.
Titans' Haynesworth Improving, But Sits Out
Defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth sat out a light practice Wednesday with the Tennessee Titans with a right hamstring injury.
Haynesworth missed his first game this season last weekend in a 28-13 loss to Jacksonville, and the Titans (6-3) gave up a season-high 166 yards rushing without him. He said sitting out was tough.
"I feel 100 percent better than I did last week," Haynesworth said. "It's improving daily. I haven't felt this good in a while. It also gives me a chance to heal other injuries I had."
Tennessee is at Denver on Monday night.

Union To Appeal Ruling That Pacman Must Sit For Year
The NFL Players Association is appealing commissioner Roger Goodell's decision not to reduce the season-long suspension of Titans' cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones.
The union wants a hearing as soon as possible.
In a statement posted on its Web site, the union said it appealed Goodell's decision in a letter dated Nov. 8 -- two days after the commissioner notified Jones that the cornerback must serve out the entire suspension handed down originally in April.
The union said Goodell met with Jones, his representatives and an attorney from the NFLPA on Nov. 2 to consider leniency. The statement concludes with saying a hearing will be held in New York "within the next several weeks."
