Pacman Charged With Two Felonies

Nov 2, 2014 4:56 PM

Authorities have charged NFL football player Adam "Pacman" Jones with two felonies in connection with a triple shooting at Minxx strip club, according to Las Vegas TV station KVVU. After reviewing the Feb. 19 incident, prosecutors agreed there is sufficient evidence to charge Jones with two counts of felony coercion, Las Vegas police said. The charges mark the latest off-field nightmare for Jones, a Tennessee Titans cornerback who was recently slapped with a one-year suspension by the NFL and is being sought for questioning about gunfire that erupted this weekend outside a strip club in Atlanta, KVVU reported. Authorities in Atlanta have said they do not believe Jones played any role in the shooting, but was at the strip club and may know the people responsible.

Brown Stays With Tennessee

Nov 2, 2014 4:55 PM

Chris Brown, the running back who lost his starting job to Travis Henry last season, has agreed to a one-year deal bringing him back to the Tennessee Titans. Brown, who found himself on the bench watching Henry rush for 1,211 yards in 2006, spent the offseason visiting with other teams and had narrowed his choices down to his hometown Chicago Bears and Tennessee. Agent Ryan Morgan said the Titans offer an opportunity. "I wouldn't have necessarily predicted this when the free-agency period started," Morgan said. "But we're constantly evaluating things. It really comes down to opportunity, and we're hoping Chris can go in there and compete and contribute."

Pacman Sought By Police About Monday Shooting

Nov 2, 2014 4:56 PM

Suspended NFL player Adam "Pacman" Jones was being sought by police for questioning about a shooting early today involving members of his entourage after a fight at an Atlanta strip club. The Tennessee Titans cornerback is currently on suspension following a melee and shooting at a Las Vegas strip club. Jones, his group and three other people got into a fight, apparently over a woman, at a club around 4 a.m., officer Ariel Toledo said. After everyone involved left the strip club -- the three people in one car, and Jones and his entourage in three other cars -- someone in Jones' group shot at the car, and the others returned fire, Toledo said. Toledo said Jones was not present when the shots were fired. "We believe he knows some of his entourage who were involved in the shooting," Toledo said. "On himself, we do not have any charges on him. He wasn't there when the shooting occurred." One person who was outside the vehicles and not involved in the dispute was injured by debris in the shooting and was treated by emergency medical technicians, Toledo said. Manny Arora, Jones' attorney, said he expects Jones will give the police whatever help he can. "I've got to sit down with him and sit down with the police and figure out what we're looking at or if in fact he can even help them," Arora said. "Once we agree to do that, I will do it very privately and we'll take care of it."

Pacman's Attorney Calls Vegas Police 'Disturbing And Unprofessional'

Feb 13, 2014 6:16 PM

As the Las Vegas Police Department presented its case against Adam ?Pacman? Jones back to District Attorney David Roger on Wednesday, Jones? attorney Manny Arora went on the offensive against what he perceived to be grandstanding on the part of the police department. ?This is the second time that the police department has gone public with this case,? Arora said. ?I have a problem with that. You have not heard us go public with any of the facts in this case for the simple fact that you don?t want to taint a potential jury pool in case it goes to trial. ?The fact that the police are doing this is both disturbing and unprofessional. They have a right to say what they want to say, but they?re supposed to be looking for the truth and not seeking their 15 minutes [of fame].?

DNA Against Pacman Comes Back Negative

Jan 6, 2014 3:01 AM

As Las Vegas police attempt Wednesday to sway the district attorney that it has a stronger case against Adam "Pacman" Jones, the suspended NFL player's agent has confirmed that Jones has provided DNA samples that twice have tested negative in connection with a fight inside a Vegas strip club. "Yes, that's true," said Michael Huyghue, Jones' agent, of the DNA results. Sources say that Jones voluntarily submitted his DNA to Las Vegas police "more than a month ago" to determine whether Jones could be linked to DNA that was gathered in connection with the fight inside the club and a shooting outside that left a strip club bouncer paralyzed. Jones gave saliva samples to Las Vegas police, who traveled to Atlanta, Jones' hometown, to collect it. Jones' DNA sample twice has returned negative results for what apparently included an allegation of a bite during the fight, Huyghue said. The incident occurred during NBA All-Star weekend in February. "I guess they were hoping it was him," he said.

Titans No. 1 Pick To Stay At CB

May 30, 2014 4:18 PM

The signing of veteran cornerback Kelly Herndon does not signal a move back to safety for first-round draft pick Michael Griffin, Titans General Manager Mike Reinfeldt said Monday. "He's still a cornerback," Reinfeldt said. "He's done a good job so far and we'll continue to look at him there." Reinfeldt, Titans pro personnel director Lake Dawson and Herndon all know each other from their former jobs with the Seattle Seahawks.

Titans Don't Appear Optimistic On Pacman Suspension

Nov 2, 2014 4:59 PM

The acquisition of free-agent cornerback Kelly Herndon over the weekend is an indication that the Titans don't expect Roger Goodell to back off his season-long suspension of Pacman Jones. The Titans now have acquired two veteran corners with NFL starting experience ? Nick Harper and Herndon ? while third-year pro Reynaldo Hill is in the picture. Herndon also has significant experience at nickelback, which gives the Titans more flexibility in the secondary.
