Oct 30, 2020 9:03 AM

The Los Angeles Chargers cancelled practice on Thursday after one player returned a positive test for COVID-19.

All players were sent home from the team facility and went through virtual meetings.

"Well, we've done a really good job with the contact tracing," Anthony Lynn said. "Players take this very seriously. As of right now, we feel like we have it contained. We'll get another round of testing back tonight, and we'll know more. As of right now, I just wanted to make sure we keep it contained and give the players a little more peace of mind."

Anthony Lynn Doesn't Want Justin Herbert Running Too Much

Oct 27, 2020 9:19 AM

Justin Herbert led the Los Angeles Chargers in rushing yards (66) in Sunday's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The rookie had a 31-yard run that was the longest by any Chargers quarterback since 1988. He even lowered his shoulder to run over a defensive back in Week 7. Anthony Lynn appreciates Herbert's skill set, but doesn't want him running the ball too much.

"He put his shoulders down and he ran over someone," Lynn said. "The sideline kind of erupted when he did that. That's the way he leads sometimes. But in this league, I want you to slide. ... I don't want to put Justin in a situation where he may have to run the football too many times. I don't like my quarterback getting hit."

Chargers To Stick With Justin Herbert As Starting QB

Oct 8, 2020 5:31 PM

The Los Angeles Chargers will start Justin Herbert at quarterback moving forward.

The Chargers had planned to start Tyrod Taylor once he recovers from a team doctor accidentally puncturing his lung with a painkilling injection, but Herbert has bene impressive in his role.

"He impressed from the very beginning," Anthony Lynn said. "This young man is going to continue to get better and I know we can win with him. I believe that.

"I did not take that decision lightly. It's not a decision where he's going to be looking over his shoulder... he's our quarterback."

Oct 6, 2020 8:36 AM

The Los Angeles Chargers are expected to be without Austin Ekeler for four to six weeks after the running back suffered hamstring and knee injuries on Sunday.

Ekeler is seeking a second opinion on the injuries and recovery timeline.

He suffered the injury in the first quarter against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ekeler grabbed his left hamstring and needed assistance to be helped up, not walking under his own power. He was then carted into the locker room.
