The Steelers signed offensive tackle Max Starks to a one-year tender worth $6.895 million on Saturday, according to the Observer-Reporter.
The deal makes him the second highest-paid player on the team, behind only quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
He was Pittsburgh's number-three tackle last season, after starting in both 2005 and 2006.

Steelers Meet With TE Kyle Brady
The Steelers met with tight end Kyle Brady on Tuesday and are entertaining the idea of signing the free agent, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Brady played in New England last season but was released by the Patriots in February.
Heath Miller is currently the only tight end on the team's roster.
Steelers' Davenport Acquitted On Charges
Steelers' running back Najeh Davenport was acquitted of a misdemeanor domestic violence charge Wednesday in Cleveland Municipal Court, as reported by the Associated Press.
Davenport had been accused of slapping and punching Anita Person, the mother of his 5-year-old son.
Assault Charge Dropped Against Steelers' Harrison
Assault charges were dropped against Steelers' linebacker James Harrison on Thursday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
He had been charged in a domestic dispute in early March with his girlfriend Beth Tibbott.
"The plaintiff was not opposed to the case being withdrawn," Harrison's attorney said. "This case was treated like all other cases in this instance. She does not want him prosecuted."
