The Pittsburgh Steelers will face the New York Jets on Sunday.

Mike Tomlin Won't Commit To Quarterback Heading Into Week 16

Dec 16, 2019 7:52 AM

Mike Tomlin has supported Devlin Hodges since he took over at quarterback, but after Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills he wouldn't commit to him.

"I am not getting into that, guys," Tomlin said when asked about the quarterback position. "We just lost a football game. I'm not going to make an announcement every week or every time I stand in front of you guys in terms of who is playing quarterback or any other position for that matter."

Tomlin gave Hodges the job three weeks ago to replace Mason Rudolph. Hodges hadn't lost a start before Sunday night.

"I hope I'm the guy," Hodges said, "but whatever happens, happens. I'm going to be supportive. This is about the team, not me."

David Tepper Could Hire Steelers' Execs To Run Front Office

Dec 8, 2019 11:27 AM

David Tepper could consider hiring front office executives from the Pittsburgh Steelers to run the Carolina Panthers.

The contract of Kevin Colbert is up after this season while Omar Khan is also a potential target.

Tepper was previously a minority owner of the Steelers and is in the process of selling his interest.

Tepper knows both Colbert and Khan and has worked with them. Colbert owns a home in Hilton Head, South Carolina approximately three hours from where the Panthers train.

Tepper did not fire general manager Marty Hurney, but he said nothing to ensure that Hurney would remain with the organization long-term.

Steelers Blast Freddie Kitchens For Controversial Shirt

Dec 2, 2019 8:55 AM

The Pittsburgh Steelers criticized Freddie Kitchens for wearing a controversial shirt that put his team in a bad position.

The Cleveland Browns coach wore a "Pittsburgh started it" shirt in the aftermath of his team's 20-13 loss Sunday.

"I know that our coach never would have done anything like that," Steelers left guard Ramon Foster said. "Why throw gas? When you do something like that, you throw your players in harm's way. He's not on the field. You throw your players in harm's way when you do stuff like that with a vengeance. And I hate that for them."

Kitchens was photographed wearing a "Pittsburgh started it" shirt to see the Mr. Rogers biopic "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" on Friday night.

The shirt referenced the brawl between the teams two weeks ago, when Myles Garrett hit Mason Rudolph in the head with a helmet, setting off a melee and earning himself an indefinite suspension.

"I wore a T-shirt," Kitchens said after Sunday's game. "I wore a jacket with it. My daughters wanted me to wear the shirt. I'd wear it again. I put on a jacket, I covered it up, I took a picture, that was simple as that. A T-shirt didn't cause us to give up 40-yard passes. We were ready to play. That's the only thing people need to be concerned about. We were ready to play."
