Chip Kelly claims the Philadelphia Eagles had Odell Beckham Jr. ranked No. 1 on his draft board for the 2014 NFL Draft.

Beckham was the third receiver selected, going to the New York Giants at No. 12 overall behind Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans.

"I said it a year ago: I thought Odell Beckham was the best player in the draft," Kelly said, via Pro Football Talk. "I was right. We didn't have a chance to get Odell Beckham, but a lot of it depends on where you're selecting."

The Eagles held the No. 22 overall pick.

Shane Vereen is expected to sign with the New York Giants.

Vereen had 96 carries for 391 yards last season with the New England Patriots, along with 52 catches for 447 yards.

Vereen was a second round pick in 2011 out of California.

The New York Giants are considering pursuing Ndamukong Suh in free agency.

The Giants currently project to have just $13 million of cap space.

Suh wants to be the highest paid defensive player in the NFL, which would mean his contract has to exceed J.J. Watt's six-year, $100 million extension.

ESPN reported in September that Suh wants to play in New York.

The New York Giants have used the franchise tag on Jason Pierre-Paul.

If Pierre-Paul signs a contract with another team, the Giants will receive two first-round draft choices as compensation.

Pierre-Paul's franchise designation will pay him $14.813 million for the 2015 season, after which he can become an unrestricted free agent.
