Odell Beckham Jr. Doesn't Expect Double Teams To Be Effective

May 28, 2015 1:11 PM

Odell Beckham Jr. is expecting to receive double teams this season, but he doesn't believe it will slow down the New York Giants' passing game.

“I definitely expect to receive a lot more attention,” Beckham said, via NJ.com. “But it’s just not going to work.”

Beckham said Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle will benefit if opposing team's secondary key in on him too much.

“You know you have Vic and Reuben, it’s going to be hard to double or have a safety over the top with the stuff that we have going on,” Beckham said. “I don’t think it’s going to be beneficial for them.”

Odell Beckham: NFL Players Should Get Paid More Due To Health Risk

May 19, 2015 2:00 PM

Odell Beckham Jr. believes NFL players are underpaid due to the level of risk they take on.

“I think that we should make more money, personally,” Beckham told The Huffington Post when asked what he’d change about the NFL.

“I understand that basketball plays 80-something games, baseball plays this many games, soccer plays that many games, but this is a sport where there’s more injuries. There’s more collisions. It’s not even a full-contact sport, I would call it a full-collision sport. You have people running who can run 20 miles per hour and they’re running downhill to hit you, and you’re running 18 miles per hour. That’s a car wreck. It’s just the career is shorter. There’s injuries that you have after you leave the game, brain injuries, whatever it is, nerve injuries.”

NFL players make less money on average than their counterparts in other sports due to the size of rosters.

The players’ percentage of the league’s revenue is similar in all three sports, but in the NFL that money is divided among a much larger pool of players.

Eli Manning Has Experimented With Deflated Balls Since Deflategate

May 12, 2015 11:49 AM

Deflategate prompted Eli Manning to experiment with deflated footballs to see if he could tell the difference.

"I have studied it a little bit over the last few months and felt a few air pressures to see what it feels like and it is a way of getting an advantage and breaking the rules. I guess it's the short story to it all," Manning said. "There is a difference, there is a noticeable difference. Whether it's an advantage or not, I guess that's all dependent on what a QB likes or what it's like in cold weather or if it's wet, there might be other factors to it."

Manning also said he wasn't happy to see Tom Brady suspended.
