Eli Manning Comfortable Entering 2015 Without Long-Term Contract

Apr 28, 2015 12:57 PM

Eli Manning is comfortable playing the 2015 season without a long-term contract.

Manning is entering the final season of a seven-year, $106.9 million contract with the New York Giants.

"I've known a lot of people who have gone into their last year, my brother went into the last year of his contract twice, and that's just part of it," Manning said Sunday via Newsday. "I look at it as, hey, I signed a six-year contract and I never once mentioned the contract to them or anything, or tried to get extended. I'm going to play out those six years and hopefully my play and the success of the team will dictate the future of me being in New York."

Manning has the second highest base salary in the NFL for 2015.

Josh Gordy Signs One-Year Deal With Giants

Apr 15, 2015 1:47 PM

The New York Giants have signed Josh Gordy to a one-year contract.

Gordy immediately becomes the only safety on their roster who has started an NFL game. He started nine of them for 2011 St. Louis Rams, whose head coach was current Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. He then spent three years with the Colts almost exclusively as a backup and special teamer, playing in 43 games and starting just two from 2012-14.
