Sean Payton said he was "cleared" Tuesday after he tested positive for the coronavirus last week.

Payton told WWL radio on Wednesday evening that he has not had a fever for eight or nine days, after he began feeling symptoms March 15 and took his test the next day.

"I'm doing well. I was cleared yesterday," the New Orleans Saints coach said. "It's been quite a process. You spend a lot of time trying to learn as much as you can about it. We're certainly seeing it on the news 24/7.

"So I've been fortunate. You stay inside like everyone's doing, and you find ways to pass the time. We had a competition committee meeting the other day on teleconference. But I'm feeling a lot better. And unfortunately, my appetite didn't dissipate at all during that time. You know, you watch a lot of Netflix, then you go on to Twitter, and you see everyone else is watching the same shows."

The New Orleans Saints have agreed to a one-year deal with D.J. Swearinger, a source has confirmed.

The 28-year-old safety joined the Saints late last December after being released by the Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders earlier in the year. He was only active in Week 17.

The deal is reportedly worth $1.1 million, with a $50,000 roster bonus for being on the 53-man roster in Week 1.

Emmanuel Sanders and the New Orleans Saints have agreed to a two-year deal worth up to $19 million. 

Sanders was traded by the Denver Broncos to the San Francisco 49ers last season.

The Saints had been looking for a No. 2 wide receiver behind Michael Thomas. Sanders can line up frequently in the slot, which fits the Saints' offense.

The New Orleans Saints have agreed to a four-year, $32 million deal that will bring Malcolm Jenkins back into the fold.

According to a source, $16.25 million of Jenkins' deal will be guaranteed.

The Philadelphia Eagles declined the safety's option on Tuesday, making him a free agent.

Jenkins, 32, spent his first five seasons with the Saints before signing with the Eagles and playing six years.

Teddy Bridgewater and the Carolina Panthers have agreed to a three-year, $63 million deal.

The deal came hours after the Panthers announced that Cam Newton could seek a trade.

"Stop with the word play. I never asked for it," he commented. "There is no dodging this one. I love the Panthers to death and will always love you guys. Please do not try and play me or manipulate the narrative and act like I wanted this. You forced me into this. Love"

Joe Brady worked with Bridgewater during his two years as an offensive assistant with the Saints before taking over as LSU's passing game coordinator last year.

The Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots have interest in signing Teddy Bridgewater.

Bridgewater spent the past two seasons as backup quarterback of the New Orleans Saints.

The Panthers are trying to trade Cam Newton, while Tom Brady has decided not to re-sign with the Patriots.

Bridgewater was 5-0 this past season with the Saints with a passer rating of 99.1.

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints have agreed to a two-year, $50 million deal.

Brees announced in February he planned to continue his playing career.

Brees appeared in 11 games last season and had a passer rating of 116.3.

The New Orleans Saints have tendered Taysom Hill at the first round level.

The cost of the first-round tender is $4.7 million.

Hill can negotiate with other teams as a restricted free agent, but the Saints have the right to match.

The Saints will re-sign Drew Brees and are expected to lose Teddy Bridgewater.

Drew Brees has made it clear he'll remain with the New Orleans Saints.

Still, the quarterback will become a free agent when the new league year begins.

According to a report, Brees is open to taking a below-market contract with the Saints.
