Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints are expected to agree to a new contract before the start of free agency.

Brees was in a similar situation two years ago when he was offered a $60 million contract over two seasons from the Arizona Cardinals, but he never seriously considered it.

Brees clearly wants to be paid in a way that's commensurate with his value, but he is prioritizing competing for a Super Bowl over a few extra million dollars.

If the Saints and Brees are unable to agree to a contract by March 18th, his current deal automatically voids and an extra $5.4 million goes onto their 2020 cap.

The Saints would also like to re-sign Taysom Hill.
