Antonio Brown Accuses Saints Of 'Publicity Stunt' Workout

Dec 31, 2019 12:05 PM

Antonio Brown accused the New Orleans Saints of bringing him in for a workout as a publicity stunt.

“I know I got a really crusty tone lately,” Brown said. “But really I’m at peace. I just don’t like the lack of respect in the world. You know, everyone has deadlines. I guess the NFL don’t have a deadline for me, so. I appreciate Sean Payton and them guys for supporting me and bringing me out to work out. But I think it was a publicity stunt for them. Sean Payton know[s] the feeling of being left behind, not being able to interact with his team. I don’t have a team. But it is what it is. We don’t seek comfort. We don’t make excuses. I’m [going to] just keep committing to be the difference. ‘Cause I know I’m the difference.”

Brown is in limbo as he remains under investigation under the Personal Conduct Policy.

Antonio Brown Works Out For Saints

Dec 27, 2019 9:59 PM

Antonio Brown has been brought in by the New Orleans Saints for a workout.

Brown, 31, is being investigated by the NFL under its personal conduct policy after a lawsuit filed by his former trainer, Britney Taylor, that alleges she was sexually assaulted by Brown on multiple occasions. Brown also was accused of sexual misconduct at his home by an artist who was working there in 2017.

The Saints have been thin on proven wide receiver depth for the past two years. Michael Thomas just set the NFL record for catches in a season with 145, but no other receiver on the team has more than 29 receptions.

Drew Brees Sets Record For Most Career Touchdown Passes

Dec 17, 2019 4:19 PM

Drew Brees broke Peyton Manning's career touchdown record with a 5-yard pass to Josh Hill midway through the third quarter on Monday night.

The connection with Hill gave him 540 touchdown passes for his career.

Brees tied Tom Brady with his 538th career TD thanks to a 15-yard pass to Michael Thomas early in the second quarter. He then tied Manning's record at 539 with a 21-yard TD throw to Tre'Quan Smith midway through the second quarter.

Brees also made NFL history by registering a 96.7 completion percentage as the New Orleans Saints trounced the Indianapolis Colts 34-7.

"Listen, it was special, everything about the night," Brees said. "I don't know how they pick 'em. Monday Night Football, playing the Colts, the team that we won the Super Bowl against 10 years ago. So the whole Super Bowl XLIV team is back for the 10th anniversary. And, obviously, national television, big game, and now that record in the balance, as well. It just kind of makes you shake your head. 'Are you kidding me?'"
