Jalen Ramsey Trying To Recruit Stephon Gilmore To Rams

Jun 15, 2021 9:09 AM

Stephon Gilmore wants a new deal from the New England Patriots and Jalen Ramsey is trying to take advantage of that.

Ramsey tweeted to Gilmore and reminded the cornerback that Major League Baseball star Mookie Betts left Boston for Los Angeles and won a championship.

Gilmore, who turns 31 in September, is entering the final year of his contract -- which pays him just $7 million in base salary for this season.

Jalen Ramsey Will Wear No. 5 For Rams

Jun 14, 2021 8:44 AM

Jalen Ramsey is switching jersey numbers and will wear No. 5 for the Los Angeles Rams this coming season.

The cornerback initially wanted to switch from No. 20 to No. 2, but Robert Woods also wanted the number. The Rams sided with Woods based on seniority.

There's a significant inventory of Ramsey No. 20 jerseys, and so he will have to pay about $330,000 to buy out those jerseys for the NFL to let him wear No. 5.

Sean McVay: Happiness With Matthew Stafford No Slight To Jared Goff

Jun 11, 2021 8:33 AM

Sean McVay was asked Thursday what he thought of Matthew Stafford.

"I think I've been very happy," McVay said. "Everybody says, 'Man, you just seem like you're in a better mood this offseason,' and I said, 'You're damn right I am.'"

Those comments came in the early afternoon. By early evening, following the Los Angeles Rams' final mandatory minicamp practice, McVay did not appear so pleased.

"I hate that I even have to say this, but I think I made a comment that was definitely taken out of context," McVay said as he opened his post-practice news conference, seemingly surprised that reports mentioned the departure of Jared Goff in conjunction with Stafford's arrival and the shift in McVay's mood.

"I am very excited. I am in a good mood because of the confidence that I have in this team. But by no means is that a slight to anybody, you know, like Jared, who has done a phenomenal job for the last four years here."
