Luck Not Expecting Arians' Role Change To Negatively Impact Offense

May 21, 2014 12:21 PM

If any area is even marginally impacted by offensive coordinator Bruce Arians’ wider role while being interim head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, it might be the offense.

But Andrew Luck argued the opposite.

“I don’t think it will,’’ he said, adding he and Arians already had spoken about “making sure the communication’s not lost.”

Luck added, “Coach Arians has been around. He’s seen everything in the world of football. I’m sure he’ll do a great job and still manage to keep his (finger on the) pulse of everything the offense is doing.”

Pagano Diagnosed With Treatable Leukemia, Arias To Assume HC Duties

Sep 21, 2014 11:58 AM

Indianapolis Colts' head coach Chuck Pagano has been diagnosed with a treatable form of leukemia, owner Jim Irsay announced.

"It's been a very difficult week," Irsay said. "...I am optimistic. I feel with every fiber of my body --- and I know Chuck feels the same way --- that he can beat this thing."

Pagano is unlikely to return to coaching in full this season.

Larry Cripe, Pagano's doctor, said the goal of the treatment is to cure the disease and have Pagano return to coaching. But, Cripe added, "The process is long and complicated."

Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians will take over as Colts' head coach in Pagano's absence.
