The Patriots are focusing on tight end Dallas Clark heading into their battle with the Colts on Sunday night. During New England's last meeting with Indianapolis, safety Rodney Harrison was in charge of covering Clark, but he's currently on the injured reserve. With Harrison out, Adalius Thomas might be assigned coverage duty on Clark in Week Nine. "Rodney is a great player and he definitely gives a big lift for their defense. They always say 'next guy in,' but I think just on this side of the fence, I think Rodney's a tough guy for them to replace," Clark said during a conference call. "He brought so much to their defense, so much versatility and just that toughness the defense always shows, so I think he allowed them to do a lot of different things." Pats' coach Bill Belichick wouldn't reveal any specific plans for Clark, but appeared worried about a number of targets. "There are plenty of concerns with Dallas Clark. There are concerns about everybody - Clark, (Marvin) Harrison, (Reggie) Wayne, (Anthony) Gonzalez and (Joseph) Addai. It is about team defense; you can?t double everybody," Belichick said. "You can?t set your defense to stop everybody; they have too many good players. In the course of playing good team defense there will be a lot of different people that will have a lot of different responsibilities all the way through the course of the game."

The Colts have lost cornerback Marlin Jackson for the remainder of the season with a knee injury. "He did significant damage to the knee, and I'm not exactly sure, but it's probably going to involve some surgery," Coach Tony Dungy said Thursday. "I think he might get a second opinion, but right now, he's probably going to be out for a while." Indianapolis placed Jackson on injured reserve and re-signed cornerback Keiwan Ratliff, who played four games this year.

Patriots' coach Bill Belichick doesn't believe that Colts' quarterback Peyton Manning is playing hurt this season. "If I?m not mistaken, he hasn?t shown up on the injury report all year except maybe one day at the beginning of the season," Belichick said. "I am not really sure what injuries you?re talking about, but he hasn?t been listed on the injury report all year." Manning underwent two procedures on his knee during the summer to remove an infected bursa sac and did not take a single snap until the team's season opener in early September. "He looks pretty good to me," Belichick said. "I don?t think he?s injured. He hasn?t been on the injury report, so I?m assuming he?s not hurt."

The Colts are denying a report that quarterback Peyton Manning had a staph infection that forced doctors to operate on his knee a second time this offseason. The Indianapolis Star reported the second surgery on Friday. "Peyton Manning developed swelling in his left pre-patella bursa in late February," the Colts said in a statement. "The swollen bursa was treated conservatively beginning in February with drainage and anti-inflammatory medication. "The first signs of infection occurred while he was in New Orleans in July. It should be noted that infection developed prior to any surgery. Upon manifestation of the signs of infection, he immediately had surgery to remove the bursa sac. Concurrently, he was treated aggressively with antibiotics, and the infection was eliminated. "The second procedure [tacking of the skin to eliminate the bursal space] was designed to ensure the complete and swift resolution of the bursal problem. The procedure was successful. "The second procedure was in no way, shape or form, related to the infection. The second procedure did not delay his rehabilitation or recovery materially."

The undefeated Titans will host the struggling Colts on Monday Night Football this week and are not looking past their division rival. "We didn't look past anyone, but now we are definitely looking forward to the Colts," Titans' fullback Ahmard Hall said. "We need to beat those guys and establish ourselves as the top team in the division." Indianapolis has won the AFC South for five-straight seasons, but at 3-3 they already trail the Titans (6-0) by three games. "It gets harder now," Titans' Coach Jeff Fisher said. "We are back in the division against a team we know. . . . They are the Colts, and they have won the division how many years in a row? We are just trying to win the next ballgame. It is not about being 7-0. It is just about trying to win a division game right now."

Eli Manning, fresh off his Super Bowl MVP award this past February, is on pace to have a season the rivals, if not betters, that of his older brother Peyton. Eli, the quarterback for the Giants (4-1), is on pace for 3,930 passing yards, 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He is completing 63.8% of his passes, averages 7.68 yards-per-completion and has a 91.4 quarterback rating. Peyton, the leader of the Colts (3-2), is projected to finish the 2008 season with 4,166 passing yards, 26 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He is completing 63.2% of his passes, averages 7.15 yards-per-completion and has a 87.8 QB rating. Eli currently would edge Peyton in quarterback rating, completion percentage, yards-per-completion and interceptions. In addition, Eli is currently throwing 1.69 TDs per INT, while Peyton's ratio stands at 1.63. Heading into Week Seven, Peyton has Eli in passing yards and touchdowns. Eli's projected stats (3,930 yards, 22 TDs and 13 INTs) would likely be considered the best statistical campaign of his five-year career. Peyton, however, is on pace (4,166 yards, 26 TDs and 16 INTs) to post numbers much lower than we've come to expect in the last handful of years.

Colts' running back Joseph Addai has a slightly torn hamstring and likely will be sidelined two to four weeks, according to a report Wednesday by the NFL Network.

After nearly two months of deflecting questions, Tony Dungy finally admitted that Peyton Manning actually had two surgical procedures on his left knee before returning to the field in late August.

Colts' receiver Marvin Harrison has not been charged in an April shooting in North Philadelphia, but the alleged victim has decided to sue him. Dwight Dixon has filed a civil suit against Harrison, claiming that he suffered "serious and permanent injuries ... and a severe shock to his nerves and nervous system" as a result of the shooting, which wounded his left hand, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

David Akers kicked a field goal midway through the quarter to pull the Eagles to within a score, but for the second-straight week they couldn?t reach the end zone late. Donovan McNabb, 17-for-29 with 196 yards, and Jason Campbell, 16-for-29 with 176 yards, were nearly identical, but the latter was able to come away with the victory. Brian Westbrook, who started but missed time with a chest injury, has 86 total yards while Portis burned Philadelphia?s usually stout rush defense for 145 yards. Neither team committed a turnover. Jacobs rushed fifteen times for 136 yards and two scores in the victory. Matt Hasselbeck continued to struggle, going 11-for-21 with 105 yards and an interception, as the Seattle offense had a very difficult time moving against New York. Receiver Deion Branch made his season debut for the team, grabbing three passes for 31 yards, but had to leave in the second half with an injury to his foot. Julius Jones rushed for 61 yards on seventeen carries for the Seahawks, who went 1-for-11 on third down. Giants' receivers Domenik Hixon, four catches for 102 yards and a touchdown, and Sinorice Moss, four catches for 45 yards and two scores, played terrific in the absence of the suspended Burress. Rivers connected with former-Dolphins receiver Chris Chambers for a 17-yard score in the third quarter, but San Diego wasn?t able to score again as Miami held on for their second-straight victory. Greg Camarillo was the game?s leading receiver with six catches for 68 yards, including a 17-yard strike from Pennington that gave the Dolphins the lead in the second quarter. After Manning hooked up with Tom Santi in the end zone with 4:04 left, linebacker Gary Brackett forced a fumble by Rosenfels and returned it 68 yards for a quick score. Three plays later, Robert Mathis forced another fumble, which set up a quick connection between Manning and Reggie Wayne to give the Colts a 31-27 win. J.T O?Sullivan went 14-for-29 with 130 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. Frank Gore had 78 total yards and a receiving touchdown while Isaac Bruce caught three passes for 49 yards and a pair of scores. San Francisco sacked Cassel five times but couldn?t keep the Patriots from gaining yards on the ground. The difference was on the ground as Felix Jones and Marion Barber combined for 180 yards and a touchdown in the victory. The Bengals managed just 61 yards, between Chris Perry and the recently-signed Cedric Benson, in the game. Palmer hooked up with T.J. Houshmandzadeh midway through the fourth quarter for their second touchdown of the game, bringing the Bengals to without two points of the Cowboys after a failed two-point conversion. On their next possession, Dallas converted twice on third down leading to a 15-yard touchdown pass from Romo to Patrick Crayton that gave the Cowboys a 31-22 lead with less than two minutes remaining. Kurt Warner went 33-for-42 with 250 yards and two touchdowns in the victory while Losman went 15-for-21 with 220 yards, one touchdown, and an interception in the loss. Arizona?s defense was feisty on Sunday, recording five sacks, grabbing an interception and collecting three fumbles. Edgerrin James and Tim Hightower, taking advantage of good field position, combined for 94 yards and three touchdowns against Buffalo?s usually stifling defense. The win gives the Cardinals sole possession of first place in the NFC West while the loss has trimmed Buffalo?s lead in the AFC East to just a half-game. AS the Bills will enjoy a bye in Week Six, they hope Edwards is healthy enough to face San Diego in two weeks. Rashean Mathis intercepted Ben Roethlisberger on the first drive of the game, returning the ball 72 yards for a touchdown, but Pittsburgh hung tough and received an unexpected boost from running back Mewelde Moore. Moore rushed for 99 yards with several of Pittsburgh?s running backs out with injuries, and Roethlisberger finished the game 26-for-41 with 309 yards, three touchdowns, and the aforementioned interception. David Garrard went 18-for-32 with 200 yards and a touchdown for the Jaguars, but the Steelers limited Jacksonville to just 38 rushing yards on nineteen attempts. Maurice Jones-Drew gave the Jaguars a 14-7 lead late in the first quarter, but the Steelers answered with thirteen points in the second quarter to take a lead into the half. After a scoreless third, Garrard hooked up with Marcedes Lewis for a 24-yard touchdown that gave Jacksonville a 21-20 edge. However, Roethlisberger found Hines Ward for an 8-yard score with 1:53 left in the game to give the Steelers the victory. Reggie Bush had 93 total yards, and returned an NFL-record two punts for touchdowns for the Saints. Brees gave New Orleans an early lead with a touchdown strike to Devery Henderson, but Antoine Winfield blocked a field goal and returned it 59 yards for a touchdown five minutes later to tie the score. Minnesota took a 20-10 lead into the half, but Bush came to the rescue in the third. He returned a punt 71 yards with 1:46 left in the third and book ended a Martin Gramatica field goal with another touchdown return midway through the fourth. Frerotte answered on the next possession, throwing a 33-yard touchdown to Bernard Berrian to tie the game after missing a play following a rough hit in the backfield.
