Sanders, Freeney Continue Rehab For Colts

Sep 18, 2014 8:59 PM

Injured defenders Bob Sanders and Dwight Freeney have each had surgery in the past six months and are looking forward to taking the field, according to The Associated Press. "It's tough because football players always want to be on the field," Sanders said Sunday. "When you're on the field, you can get better. Right now, though, I'm trying to get healthy." "This is by far the worst," Freeney said. "It's something where you wake up in the morning, you feel it, but once you get going it sort of works itself out. It's a process, it's one of those things where you have to understand every week is new and just because it hurts on Tuesday doesn't mean it will hurt on Thursday." Sanders and Freeney will continue be restricted until training camp opens July 24.

Wayne Looks To Improve On Career-Year

Jul 14, 2014 6:25 PM

Indianapolis receiver Reggie Wayne is hoping to improve upon the career-highs he put up on the field in 2007 and hopes to do it with Marvin Harrison lining up on the other side of the Colts' offensive line, according to the NFL.com. "It was shutting up the critics," Wayne said. "They were always talking about could I do it, could I do it. They always said it was because Marvin was there, which is true. But I was still able to do it when he wasn't there." Harrison missed a majority of last season with an array of injures, easily making Wayne Peyton Manning's top target all season long. Marvin has missed the opening part of the team's workouts because of legal issues stemming from a shooting that took place in his hometown of Philadelphia, which he has denied all involvement in. "You can tell it's definitely hurting him not being out there," Wayne said. "That's where I got a lot of my practice skills from, because he never takes plays off so when Peyton's out there, I don't take plays off. We feed off each other and I'd much rather have him out there because the more we're together, the better off we'll be."
