Amari Cooper Could Miss 3rd Game Due To Lingering COVID-19 Symptoms

Nov 30, 2021 12:16 PM

Amari Cooper could miss a third game after contracting COVID-19. Cooper was already to miss two games due to a required 10-day isolation as an unvaccinated player and he is now continuing to have symptoms.

"My gut would be if he doesn't practice tomorrow, I don't see him going to the game," said Mike McCarthy.

McCarthy also indicated Cooper is "still not feeling the best."

Ezekiel Elliott: Cowboys Haven't Asked Me To Sit Against Saints

Nov 29, 2021 10:58 AM

Ezekiel Elliott is dealing with a bruised right knee, but doesn't want to take any time off.

After Thursday's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, Mike McCarthy expressed concern for Elliott's health after the running back had just 25 yards on nine carries.

A source said the Cowboys will consider providing Elliott time off to heal, including the possibility of holding him out of Thursday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

"No one's came to me and asked me to rest," Elliott said.

If they do, Elliott said he would listen.

"I've just got to go with what they believe is best for the team," he said.

Dak Prescott Expected To Be 'Full Go' At Thursday Practice

Nov 2, 2021 8:56 AM

Dak Prescott appears to be tracking to a return Sunday against the Denver Broncos after sitting out Sunday night's 20-16 win over the Minnesota Vikings to rest his ailing calf.

Mike McCarthy said he anticipates Prescott participating in the Dallas Cowboys' Wednesday's practice, which will be scaled back coming off a Sunday night game, "and if everything goes normal, I would think he would be a full go on Thursday."

Prescott suffered the injury on Oct. 17 against the New England Patriots.

Xavier Woods: Vikings Prepared To Face Dak Prescott, Not Cooper Rush

Nov 1, 2021 9:28 AM

Minnesota Vikings safety Xavier Woods says the team prepared to face Dak Prescott, not Cooper Rush, heading into Sunday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Prescott, who is dealing with a calf injury, was limited in practice Wednesday through Friday and was listed as questionable on the final injury report. His status was in question throughout the week.

Rush ended up throwing for 325 yards and two touchdowns -- including the go-ahead score with less than a minute to play in regulation -- in a 20-16 Dallas victory.

"We were just preparing for 4 [Prescott]," Woods said. "We kind of thought they were going to still run the same offense. So, we just prepared for 4 all week. We didn't get the word [that Rush was going to start] until pregame, so we just prepared for 4 but we watched a couple clips of Coop. But during the week, we just prepared for 4."
