Owens: Vick Should Be Reinstated

Oct 12, 2014 11:00 PM

Bills receiver Terrell Owens doesn't believe that the NFL should further penalize Michael Vick. "The Michael Vick situation, I think, is unfortunate," Owens told ESPN. "I think the way the commissioner is handling it is unfair to Michael Vick. I think he's done the time for what he's done. I don't think it's really fair for him to be suspended four more games. It's almost like kicking a dead horse in the ground. "A lot of the guys around the league need to speak up. I think the players' union needs to step in because the guy's already suffered so much, and to add a four-game suspension onto a two-year prison sentence, I mean, that's ridiculous." Sources claim that commissioner Roger Goodell will suspend Vick for four games. Owens called the possibility of an additional Vick suspension to start the season "ridiculous."

Bills Give Edwards More Responsibility

Feb 16, 2014 12:05 PM

The Bills have given quarterback Trent Edwards a top-flight wide receiver and apparently more responsibility. Edwards will have full control of changing plays at the line of scrimmage, according to BuffaloBills.com. "He's got more on his plate, absolutely," said head coach Dick Jauron. Edwards is happy about the new power, and will likely control his own NFL destiny with the added duties. "I like it a lot," he said. "I like the system that we have in place right now. As a quarterback, it puts a lot of pressure on you. It adds a lot of responsibility in terms of getting your offense in the right play and the right call and that's enjoyable as a quarterback. You want the ball in your hands late in the game when the game is on the line, and every play on this field is like that."

J.P. Losman has decided to sign with the UFL's Las Vegas franchise. The team will be coached by Jim Fassel, and Losman immediately becomes the league's most well-known player. He opted for guaranteed playing time in the UFL over a reserve gig in the NFL. "I'm trying to get back on the field as soon as possible," Losman said. "I love the game. I want to play this game. I don't want to be [in the NFL] waiting for somebody to get hurt or not play well. "We're trying to have as much success as possible here, try to create some buzz ... and then go through [NFL free agency] again next year."
