The Bills have signed quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to be the backup to Trent Edwards.
"I think it's helped me a lot in my career to play behind Marc Bulger (in St. Louis) and Carson Palmer," Fitzpatrick told the Bills' official team Web site. "I've been able to see how they approach the game, and in doing that I've been able to help them out. I think that's what I'm going to bring here.
"Trent is still a young guy and I'm going to help him out with his preparation. I'm going to be his eyes when he's on the field and I'm looking forward to that relationship."

Lynch's Mom: He Hasn't Adjusted Well To NFL
Bills running back Marshawn Lynch hasn't found the NFL to be an easy adjustment, according to his mother.
"It's been a big culture change for him," his mother, Delisa Lynch, said. "It's a shock. It hasn't really sunk in to Marshawn - the stardom and everything that goes with it. He doesn't like the media attention. I told him at Cal, 'You're a role model now.' "
Earlier this month, Lynch was arrested in a L.A. suburb and charged with three weapons misdemeanors after a loaded 9mm semiautomatic weapon was found in the trunk of his Mercedes-Benz.
Report: Pats Interested In Taylor
The Patriots are reportedly interested in the services of veteran running back Fred Taylor, who was recently released by the Jaguars.
The Bills are also interested in Taylor, who is expected to visit both teams this week.
Police: Marijuana Found In Lynch's Car
Bills running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested on gun charges last week, and could be in more trouble after police say they found marijuana in his car as well.
"They (officers) knocked on the window of the car. Someone unrolled the window. They saw three people in the car and they could smell a strong odor - marijuana coming from the car. They had the occupants exit so they could further investigate to see if there was any marijuana in the car. What they found were four, not marijuana cigarettes - what they call blunts or swisher sweets that appeared to contain marijuana in them," says police captain Dave Tankenson.
Bills Speak Out On Lynch's Arrest
The Bills have confirmed that running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested from possession of a concealed weapon.
"We can confirm that Marshawn was arrested in California and has retained an attorney," Bills V.P. of communications Scott Berchtold told WIVB-TV. "We are in the process of trying to gather the facts and will not offer a comment while that process is ongoing."
Bills' Lynch Charged With Possession Of Concealed Firearm
Buffalo running back Marshawn Lynch has reportedly been arrested and charged with felony possession of a concealed firearm.
The incident took place last Wednesday night.
Culver City police officers were patrolling the Fox Hills area when they came into contact with three adult males in a Mercedes Benz. One of the men was Lynch, who was found with a loaded firearm.
"The officers determined the gun belonged to Lynch and he was arrested for possession of a concealed firearm," according to a police report.
