The Tennessee Titans waived Adrian Peterson after three games with the team.

Peterson was signed as a replacement for Derrick Henry. 

Peterson split carries with D'Onta Foreman, Jeremy McNichols and Dontrell Hilliard. Peterson carried the ball 27 times for 82 yards and one touchdown in three games this season.

Derrick Henry will undergo foot surgery on Tuesday morning and miss between six and 10 weeks.

Henry is considered most likely to be out for eight weeks. The Tennessee Titans expect Henry to return at some point this season. 

Through eight games this season, Henry has rushed 219 times for 937 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Henry suffered a potentially season-ending foot injury in the team's 34-31 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts, according to sources. The running back will have an MRI Monday to determine the extent of the injury.

He rushed 28 times for 68 yards in Week 8, his lowest rushing total since Week 1.
