The reported feud between the 49ers and quarterback Matthew Stafford will likely be smoothed over very soon. NFL.com is reporting that the 49ers will welcome Stafford, who could be taken by the Lions with the first overall pick, for a visit on Monday. Stafford told Sports Illustrated that San Francisco felt as though his parent's divorce left him with "unfinished business."

The 49ers have arranged a visit with Kansas State quarterback Josh Freeman, soon after they meet with USC's Mark Sanchez. Sanchez is scheduled to visit San Francisco on Wednesday and Thursday.

The San Francisco 49ers and the city of Santa Clara are on the brink of finalizing a stadium deal. With terms significantly more favorable to the South Bay city than those discussed last year, both the 49ers ownership and city officials agreed Wednesday that most negotiating hurdles have been cleared and that a deal is at hand, if Santa Clara voters agree, to build a 68,500-seat stadium that would open for the 2013 NFL season.

Veteran wide receiver Isaac Bruce is postponing retirement for another season with the 49ers, as reported by ESPN. Bruce, the second-leading receiver in NFL history with 14,944 yards, informed coach Mike Singletary on Wednesday of his decision to return for his 16th NFL season.
