The Philadelphia Eagles plan to use Jalen Hurts as a rookie and reportedly may even put him at running back.

Since using a second-round pick on Hurts, the Eagles have maintained that they are "married" to Carson Wentz at quarterback.

"I know we're talking about Taysom Hill, but Jalen Hurts will be in his own unique role," Mike Garafolo reported. "He will be on the field, though, this upcoming season and, the Eagles hope, for the next four years as a guy who can contribute to the offense other than a quarterback. They're hopeful they won't need him as a quarterback, because that means Carson Wentz is healthy and on the field. Talking to one Eagles source, they said, 'This guy might be able to contribute as a straight running back, that's how good we think he is, that's what we think of his skill set.'"

The Philadelphia Eagles selected Jalen Hurts out of Oklahoma with the 53rd overall pick.

Hurts was the first quarterback selected in the second round.

The Philadelphia Eagles may be planning to replace Jason Kelce sooner than later.

They have being doing homework on the presumed top center in the draft, Michigan's Cesar Ruiz.

Kelce turns 33 in November and his contract expires after the 2021 season.

The Eagles have the 21st overall pick and the No. 53 pick in the second round.

LeSean McCoy isn't ready to retire and hopes to play another two seasons in the NFL.

"I really just want to play two more years," McCoy said in an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio. "I talk to Frank [Gore] about this. He always tells me, 'Never put a ceiling on your career. Hey, if you feel good and you do well, do another one year and vice versa. If it doesn't go well, just let your body talk to you.' My body feels fine."

McCoy, 31, just finished his 11th NFL season and is a free agent. He won a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs in a limited role.

A six-time Pro Bowl selection, McCoy said has "a couple teams that I'm looking at."

The Philadelphia Eagles shopped Alshon Jeffrey prior to last season's trade deadline, according to a report.

Philadelphia guaranteed the wide receiver's salary for 2020 just before last season and soon regretted it.

Jeffrey's production lessened, he dealt with injuries and was believed to be the source of disparaging comments about the team to ESPN.

He became aware he was being shopped and was troubled by mixed messages from the team.
