Jets Hire Joe Douglas As General Manager

Jun 7, 2019 9:05 PM

The New York Jets have hired Joe Douglas as general manager on a six-year deal. Douglas will control the 53-man roster and will have final say on the draft and free agency.

Douglas had been vice president of player personnel of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Douglas was the heavy favorite from the outset, in part because of his connection to Gase. They worked together with the Chicago Bears in 2015 and remained friends.

Le'Veon Bell Describes Relationship With Adam Gase As 'Great'

Jun 5, 2019 9:19 AM

Le'Veon Bell says he has a "great" relationship with New York Jets coach Adam Gase.

Bell has heard rumors that Gase didn't want the Jets to acquire him.

"This is a business," he said. "Even if the report was true, obviously he doesn't feel like I'm not a great player.

"Maybe he just feels like, 'Dang, maybe we could've got more great players.' I don't know. What I'm saying is, me and him, our relationship is great."
