Offensive lineman Damien Woody confirmed on his Twitter account that he had been released by the New York Jets.
According to the New York Daily News, the Jets are also expected to cut outside linebacker Vernon Gholston, nose guard Kris Jenkins and outside linebacker Jason Taylor.

Jets Eyeing Pass Rusher With First-Round Pick
The Jets are expected to target an outside pass rusher with their first-round pick in April.

Jets Prioritize Holmes And Edwards Ahead Of Cromartie

Jets Hire Replacement Strength Coach
The Jets have hired a new strength and conditioning coach.
Bill Hughan replaces Sal Alosi, who submitted his resignation two weeks ago -- two months after he tripped Miami's Nolan Carroll during a game Dec. 12 at the New Meadowlands Stadium.
Ultimately, Alosi was placed on indefinite suspension after the organization determined that he organized a sideline "wall" among inactive players.
Rex Ryan Again Predicts Super Bowl Victory
Jets coach Rex Ryan has again predicted a Super Bowl victory.
Ryan told the MSG Network on Friday night that there's "no way we don't get it done next year," and added "next year, I know we'll win it."
He said he's still hurting from New York's AFC Championship Game loss to Pittsburgh.
"It feeds the competitiveness in you," Ryan told the New York Post. "You're sick that you missed out again, two years in a row. I know how important it is to this town and our fans, and how important it is to me, this football team. To come up short again, it?s a huge blow.
"But you do remember," he said. "It drives your competitive spirit, like there's no way, no way we don't get it done next year. That's how you feel. That's how I feel. You can?t wait to get back and have at it again."

The Jets have signed kicker Nick Novak as potential competition for Nick Folk, who can become a free agent.
Novak, 29, has appeared in regular season games with the Redskins, Cardinals and Chargers but hasn't kicked in the league since 2008.
Folk got off to a good start for the Jets, but he hit a slump in November and almost lost his job. He made 30 of 39 field goals.
