Brady 'Cool' With Ryan's 'Hating'
Tom Brady said on Friday morning that he's "cool" with Jets coach Rex Ryan's assertion that the Patriots QB is the most hated man in the country, according to an ESPN.com report.
Responding to Brady's quote that he "hates" the Jets, Ryan writes "I really don't know Tom Brady, but who wouldn't hate him? Look at his life. Actually, look at his wife. Every man in America hates Tom Brady, and he should be proud of that."
On Friday, Brady laughed when asked about Ryan and the Jets, jokingly referring to Gang Green as his "favorite subject."
He then addressed Ryan's comments.
"As long as he hates me, I'm cool. He's the leader of that team and the players take after their coach," Brady said.
Alosi Working Out Two Jets Players
Banned from working out at the team facility during the NFL labor dispute, two Jets players have turned to former trainer Sal Alosi.
The disgraced former Jets strength and conditioning coach, who infamously tripped a Dolphins player in a game last December and ultimately resigned under pressure, is training left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson and defensive end Mike DeVito.
Alosi is conducting the workouts at his home in New Jersey. He converted his garage into a gym, taking on clients as he attempts to rehabilitate his career.
Ryan: Vernon Gholston A 'Phony'
In his soon-to-be-released book, Jets coach Rex Ryan makes critical comments of Vernon Gholston, the draft bust who was released after three disappointing seasons.
Ryan was a Ravens assistant when the Jets drafted Gholtson, but he says he warned then-coach Eric Mangini not to pick him.
"Truth be told, I didn't like the kid coming out of college," says Ryan. "He's a good athlete and a smart guy, but I thought he was a phony."
NY Jets, Giants To Open NFL Season On 9/11
The Giants will visit the Redskins and the Jets will host the Cowboys on Sept. 11, marking the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, as reported by ESPN.com.
With the NFL and its locked-out players mired in negotiations over a new labor agreement, the league on Tuesday announced its 2011-12 schedule, assuming the season starts on time.
Cromartie Joins CAA Sports
Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie has joined CAA Sports, the most powerful agency in the country.
He will be represented by elite agents Ben Dogra and Tom Condon, whose client list includes NFL superstars such as Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson and Nnamdi Asomugha.
Cromartie, 27, will be a restricted free agent if the 2010 free agency rules are reinstated due to the league's labor impasse.
Scott: Patriots 'Want To Be' Jets
Jets linebacker Bart Scott continues to add fuel to the feud between New York and New England.
Scott believes the Patriots are trying to become more like the Jets, who have made headlines in recent seasons with their confident comments.
Wes Welker broke tradition by taking subtle shots at Jets coach Rex Ryan during the 2010 playoffs.
"That's doesn't sound right, that kind of talk (coming from the Patriots)," Scott said recently. "That's when you know they're buying into us, when they start sounding like we talk. Wes Welker start trying to be us, sounding like we do. That's how you know they want to be us."
Edwards 'Wouldn't Mind' Re-Signing With Jets
Braylon Edwards isn't too happy with New York City, but he "wouldn't mind" returning to the Jets.
In an interview on Detroit radio this week, Edwards called his September DUI stop "BS" and said one of the reasons it got so much attention was because it happened in New York City.
"The bad thing about this situation is I never drive in New York," Edwards said.
"One I don't know where the heck I'm going and two the roads are too bumpy and traffic is crazy. I usually always have a chauffeur, but it was a random situation. I went to a teammate's event and stepped out after that. Why I got pulled over wasn’t even because of erratic driving or suspicion of intoxicated driving, it was for tinted windows, which is some BS. But things happen. But you learn from it; no matter if you drive there you should have someone else drive back be at a car service, cab, a friend. Don't put yourself in that situation."
Sources: Jets Workout QB Andy Dalton
The Jets have their quarterback of the present and future in Mark Sanchez, but they conducted a private, on-campus workout Friday with TCU's Andy Dalton, according to a league source.
Dalton is a fast-rising prospect who could slip into the bottom of the first round, according to scouts. The Jets own the 30th overall pick.
Kerrigan To Visit Redskins, Jets
Purdue defensive end Ryan Kerrigan was scheduled to meet with the Redskins on Tuesday, according to a league source.
Kerrigan will meet with the Jets on Wednesday.
The All-American, who visited the Chargers over the weekend, is set to meet with the Falcons before the NFL Draft as well.
RealGM's Jeff Risdon has the Jaguars selecting Kerrigan with the 16th overall pick in his latest mock draft.
Jets May Attempt To Keep Moss From Pats
When free agency does finally begin in the NFL, the Jets may express interest in Randy Moss for two reasons.
New York may lose their best down-field threat, Santonio Holmes, in free agency. Also, signing Moss would keep the wide receiver away from rival New England.
Moss was traded by the Patriots to the Vikings last season. He ended up finishing the season with the Titans, but he's made it known that he'll like to return to New England.
