Cruz, Giants Agree On 'Structure' Of New Deal

Sep 26, 2014 10:54 PM

Victor Cruz revealed that his agent and the team have agreed on the "structure" of a new contract.

"From what I hear, they’ve just agreed on the structure right now,” Cruz said on WFAN. “And that’s all I’m at liberty to say.

“Hopefully this leads to the right track and we’ll get it done sooner than later… I’m happy so far, so I can just relax and play some football."

Cruz is scheduled to be a restricted free agent at the end of the current season.

Giants Beat Cowboys 29-24 (+3.0 TC, -10 TRC)

Jun 27, 2014 2:32 PM

The New York Giants scored 23 straight points to begin the game, followed by 24 from the Dallas Cowboys over the second and third quarter. But it was two fourth quarter field goals from Lawrence Tynes that was the difference to give the Giants a 29-24 victory.

The Giants had a +3.0 edge in The Trench Counter, fully capitalizing on the six turnovers committed by the Cowboys to compensate for their relative inability to sustain drives (3-for-15 on third down). The Cowboys had a +10 edge in Total Rushes/Completions.

Eli Manning went 15-for-29 for 192 yards and an interception, while Ahmad Bradshaw rushed 22 times for 78 yards.

Tony Romo threw for 437 yards on 36-for-62 passing and a touchdown, but had four interceptions.

The Cowboys also couldn't manufacture any type of running game, with Felix Jones gaining just 19 yards on 13 carries.

Victor Cruz Seeks New Contract From Giants

Oct 14, 2014 5:04 AM

Victor Cruz would like a new contract from the New York Giants, but won't let the situation become a distraction.

“As a human being, you obviously want to, you hope to get it done before the season, obviously,’’ said Cruz. “We don’t want to drag it along and become something that blocks the team in the off-season and something that is in the media every day. We want to just knock it out halfway through the season or during the season at the very least and get it behind us.’’

Cruz is making just $540,000 this season.

Bradshaw Sought More Carries In Argument With Coughlin

Oct 12, 2014 7:38 AM

Ahmad Bradshaw delivered a plea to Tom Coughlin to run the ball more on Sunday, which led to a heated exchange in the third quarter.

"I was just saying, 'Run the ball,' going onto the field," Bradshaw said of his exchange with Coughlin. "A lot of my emotions kicking in. I just want to help my team win as much as possible."

Coughlin said he has addressed the issue with Bradshaw.

"There's never been any question about Ahmad Bradshaw's toughness, his intensity level," Coughlin said. "He plays the game hard. You know, you like to have everybody play as hard as he does. He gives it everything he's got.

"And so, you want people to recognize that fact, but sometimes you do have to control yourself and control your emotions. And he's working on it."

Giants' D-Line Eager To Face RG3, 'Most Exciting Addition To NFL'

Feb 14, 2014 12:38 AM

The New York Giants are willing to concede that Robert Griffin III is a "game-changer" for the Washington Redskins, but Jason Pierre-Paul stil offered a warning for the rookie quarterback.

“Don’t bring it to my side,” Pierre-Paul said. “Go the other way.”

Pierre-Paul believes the Giants can keep up with Griffin's speed.

“Trust me, we chase quarterbacks all time,” Pierre-Paul said. “We turn and run to the ball, no matter what. He may get past us and zoom right past us, but trust me we’re right behind him. You’ve got to respect that too. It’s not all about the speed. We’ve got guys, all 11 guys that can run to the ball very quick.

“You’d be surprised. Very surprised.”

Justin Tuck called Griffin "the most exciting new addition to the NFL."

"He's a game-changer," Tuck added. "They haven't had a good game-changer at quarterback in a while. And he is that."

David Wilson Gaining Confidence

Jun 12, 2014 2:25 PM

New York Giants' running back David Wilson started his career with a fumble and was forgotten about due to the rise of Andre Brown.

But with Brown out with a concussion, Wilson scored a 40-yard touchdown against the Browns last week.

“It does give me confidence to go out there and score a touchdown with the limited plays I had that game,” he said. “Now, I’m hoping to go out there and see what I can do with more carries.”

Wilson is expected to receive carries again this week against the 49ers with Brown out.
