A few NFL stars have expressed their displeasure with the NFL's likely move to adopt a 17-game regular season.

Owners are scheduled to decide on whether to approve the expansion during their virtual league meetings Tuesday and Wednesday.

Alvin Kamara was one of the most vocal critics after Adam Schefter tweeted that the league is planning to expand after going with a 16-game regular season since 1978.

"S--- dumb... as hell," Kamara tweeted.

Other players to weigh in included Green Bay Packers safety Adrian Amos, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay and Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan.

The NFL has disciplined the New Orleans Saints for violating league COVID-19 protocols during the 2020 season.

The Saints will forfeit a 2022 sixth-round pick and pay a $700,000 fine as a result of the team's violations of NFL and NFLPA COVID protocols, according to a report.

They were repeat offenders last season, having already received two separate disciplinary actions from the league.

The Cincinnati Bengals are signing Trey Hendrickson to a four-year, $60 million contract, according to a report.

The defensive end will earn $32 million across the first two seasons of his deal.

Cincinnati lost fellow edge rusher Carl Lawson to the Jets in free agency.

Hendrickson had 13.5 sacks and 25 quarterback hits for the New Orleans Saints in 2020.

Jameis Winston has agreed to re-sign with the New Orleans Saints on a one-year deal worth up to $12 million.

Winston spent last season with the Saints after five seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Saints are keeping both Winston and Taysom Hill after losing Drew Brees to retirement.

The New Orleans Saints and Taysom Hill have agreed to a restructured contract advertised as a four-year, $140 million extension.

Hill simply gets the $12.159 million he was supposed to earn this year and the addition of the four phony years allows for the creation of $7.75 million in cap space.

With Drew Brees retiring, his figures to play a bigger role in 2021.

Brees had already lined up his "next chapter" last year, when he agreed to become an analyst for NBC after his playing days were over.

The New Orleans Saints continue to work to get under the salary cap.

They've restructured the contract of Michael Thomas to create $8.7 million in salary-cap space, according to sources.

Thomas signed a five-year, $96-plus-million contract extension in 2019. He also restructured it once last year to free up cap space.

The New Orleans Saints will release Kwon Alexander.

The move will save the Saints more than $13 million against the cap with no dead money.

Alexander is recovering from a torn Achilles but is expected to be ready for the start of camp.

The New Orleans Saints have released Thomas Morstead after 12 seasons.

The 35-year-old punter said he intends to keep playing. The Saints released him in part because of their severe salary-cap constraints and in part because he had a rare down season in 2020.

Morstead was set to earn $3.5 million in salary and bonuses this year, with a cap charge of $4.5 million. He will still count $2 million in dead money against the salary cap.
