Blake Bortles Agrees Upon Three-Year, $54M Extension With Jaguars

Feb 25, 2018 9:15 AM

The Jacksonville Jaguars have re-signed Blake Bortles to a three-year, $54 million deal that could increase to $66.5 million with incentives.

Bortles was due to make $19.053 million in 2018 after the team picked up his fifth-year option last May.

"I told Ryan [Tollner], my agent, let's just get it done so I can just go play football. I really would love to just know and have confirmation that this is where I'm going to be, and now let's go work and continue to build on what we did last year and go play," Bortles said. "So, happy and relieved. Obviously extremely excited. It's a dream come true to be able to sign a second contract by the team that drafted me. That was one of my goals from the start so excited to get it all done and get rolling now."

Bortles completed 60.2 percent of his passes (the first time he surpassed the 60 percent mark) for 3,687 yards and 21 touchdowns with 13 interceptions.

The Jaguars went 10-6 and reached the AFC Championship Game.

Jaguars Extend Contracts Of Doug Marrone, Dave Caldwell, Tom Coughlin

Feb 23, 2018 7:23 PM

The Jacksonville Jaguars have extended the contracts to Doug Marrone, Dave Caldwell and Tom Coughlin.

The contracts of all three were set to expire after the 2019 season but they will now run through 2021.

"The decision to extend the contracts of Tom, Dave and Doug isn't so much a reward for last season, which no doubt was impressive, as it is to recognize their importance to our football team this coming season and for years to follow," Shad Khan said in a statement on Friday afternoon.

"We're past celebrating the accomplishments of our division title and playoff run, and now it's time to take the next step. We need the right leadership firmly in place to make that happen, and it's good to know we'll have that with Tom, Dave and Doug secure in their roles with the Jacksonville Jaguars."

Jaguars To Get New Look After Successful Season

Feb 13, 2018 8:41 AM

The Jacksonville Jaguars will have a new look this upcoming season.

The Jaguars announced that they are removing tarps that cover four sections of EverBank Field to meet an increased demand for tickets in the wake of the team's run to the AFC Championship Game.

They also confirmed that it will have new uniforms, which will be unveiled sometime in the spring. That means the team is moving on from its black and gold two-tone helmets.

The average season-ticket price will increase by an average of 10.9 percent, the team said, though the specific increase varies based on seat location. This is the first time in 10 seasons that a majority of the seats will have a cost increase.
