Carlos Hyde Frustrated With Lack Of Touches

Nov 28, 2018 9:07 AM

Carlos Hyde is frustrated with a lack of touches since coming over to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Hyde has 27 total touches in four games with the Jaguars. In six games with the Cleveland Browns, he averaged 20 touches.

"I went from starter [Cleveland] to not getting the ball at all, down to third string," Hyde said. "Yes, it's frustrating but I have to be patient for my time to come back around. When it comes, I'll be ready."

Hyde could see an uptick in Week 13 with Leonard Fournette suspended against the Indianapolis Colts.

Leonard Fournette Receives One-Game Suspension For Fight

Nov 27, 2018 3:03 PM

Leonard Fournette for one game without pay following his ejection for fighting with Buffalo Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson on Sunday.

The league said Fournette violated its unsportsmanlike conduct and unnecessary roughness rules and as a result will miss Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Doug Marrone said earlier Monday that he spoke with Fournette and other players on Monday about the fight, which happened late in the third quarter.

"Those discussions are private, and we discussed all the personal fouls with the team," Marrone said. "We have 22 personal fouls, which leads the league. It is something that stops us from having the opportunity to win football games. I addressed it with the team and addressed it with some players individually."

Jaguars Bench Blake Bortles, Will Start Cody Kessler

Nov 26, 2018 4:58 PM

The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced that Cody Kessler will take over as starting quarterback from Blake Bortles.

The Jaguars also fired offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett on Monday.

"It's not a knee-jerk reaction," Marrone said. "I really feel like at the end of the day we've got to try to get better production out of our passing game or more consistent production in our passing game."

Per ESPN Stats & Information, Bortles' Total QBR of 49.0 ranks 25th among 31 qualified quarterbacks this season.

Kessler, whom the team acquired in a trade with the Cleveland Browns for a seventh-round pick in March, is 0-8 as a starter.

Jaguars Will Consider Trading Jalen Ramsey

Nov 18, 2018 11:56 AM

The Jacksonville Jaguars will consider trading Jalen Ramsey this offseason.

One league source said he "absolutely" believes the Jaguars will entertain the idea of trading Ramsey, while an NFL general manager said he would not be surprised if that's the route the Jaguars decide to pursue.

"The Jaguars have zero intention of trading CB Jalen Ramsey," the team said in a statement. "There is no truth to this rumor."

Ramsey tweeted last week: "When I'm gone from here, y'all gone miss me."

Ramsey emphasized Thursday that he wants "to play for one team my whole career," but his behavior has caught the attention of his team, according to sources.

Rams Expect Dante Fowler To Contribute On Sunday

Nov 1, 2018 8:39 AM

After acquiring him via trade on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Rams expect Dante Fowler to contribute on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

"We feel like he's going to help us, specifically from a rush perspective," Sean McVay said. "Got him in here and we'll see how quickly he can get up to speed, if he's going to be able to contribute and help us this weekend. But we're excited to get Dante here."

The biggest hurdle will be getting Fowler comfortable in the Rams' defensive scheme.

"He passed his physical and he's going to — really, today is more of a mental, kind of that above-the-neck approach on a Wednesday for us," McVay said. "So, he'll get exposed to a lot of reps. If he's taking part in it or if he's standing right there with [defensive line coach] Billy Johnson listening to some of the calls, the communication. But we anticipate him being able to be involved and kind of, really, we'll see how he's able to adjust, how he's able to absorb that information. But we wanted to get him in here and hopeful that he's a contributor for us as soon as this weekend against a tough team."
