Jaguars Interested In Trading For Calvin Johnson

Oct 30, 2017 2:54 PM

The Jacksonville Jaguars have interest in trading for Calvin Johnson.

The situation is similar to what happened between the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders with Marshawn Lynch. The Raiders traded their fifth-round pick in 2018 to the Seahawks for Lynch and a 2018 sixth-rounder.

Johnson is now 32 and hasn't played in a game since Jan. 3, 2016.

The Jaguars already are facing contract negotiations with Allen Robinson, who also is in the last year of his rookie deal. The Jaguars can't afford to pay big money to two receivers, especially with six players already scheduled to have salary-cap figures of at least $10 million in 2018.

Jaguars Acquire Marcell Dareus From Bills For 2018 6th Rounder

Oct 27, 2017 11:50 PM

The Buffalo Bills have traded Marcell Dareus to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 2018 sixth round pick.

The trade reunites Dareus with Jaguars coach Doug Marrone, who coached the Bills from 2013 to 2014.

Dareus is a two-time Pro Bowler at defensive tackle.

"Jacksonville reached out to us today. And we thought about it and talked it through as an organization and decided it was a good move for the Bills and a good move for Marcell," Beane said Friday evening during a conference call.

The Bills will save $5.73 million off their 2017 salary cap and $2.375 million off their 2018 salary cap by trading Dareus.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed Telvin Smith to a four-year extension worth as much as $50 million.

Smith leads the Jaguars in tackles this season and also has two interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

"Telvin has been a productive player and an important part of our defense, and he has earned this second contract," Tom Coughlin, the Jaguars' executive vice president of football operations, said in a news release. "We want to identify the players who will contribute to help this team win going forward and reward those who can do that. Telvin is certainly one of those players for us."

Shad Khan: Donald Trump Jealous Of NFL

Oct 18, 2017 11:17 PM

Shad Khan responded to the criticism the NFL has received from Donald Trump.

“Let’s get real,” Khan told Bell. “The attacks on Muslims, the attacks on minorities, the attacks on Jews. I think the NFL doesn’t even come close to that on the level of being offensive. Here, it’s about money, or messing with — trying to soil a league or a brand that he’s jealous of.”

Trump previously tried to purchase the Buffalo Bills.

“He’s been elected President, where maybe a great goal he had in life to own an NFL team is not very likely,” Khan said. “So to make it tougher, or to hurt the league, it’s very calculated.”

Jaguars Release Jason Myers, Sign Josh Lambo

Oct 17, 2017 9:22 AM

The Jacksonville Jaguars have released Jason Myers following his missed field goals in two of the past three games.

Myers missed a 52-yard field goal attempt against the Jets and a pair of 54-yard field goals against hte Rams.

The Jaguars will sign Josh Lambo to replace him.

The Jaguars opted to keep Myers over fan favorite Josh Scobee, who also is the team's all-time leading scorer (1,022), because of his strong leg and he had a rough season as a rookie in 2015.
