Nov 29, 2022 3:10 PM

Aaron Rodgers plans to play in Week 13 against the Chicago Bears despite a rib injury.

"I got good news with the scans yesterday," Rodgers said Tuesday on "The Pat McAfee Show." "So, I plan on playing this week."

Rodgers initially feared he might have a punctured lung, but that was quickly ruled out.

Matt LaFleur: Aaron Rodgers Will Start If Healthy

Nov 29, 2022 8:41 AM

Matt LaFleur has made it clear that Aaron Rodgers will remain the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers as long as he's healthy.

Already dealing with a fractured thumb, Rodgers left the Packers' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles with a rib injury on Sunday.

Rodgers left in the third quarter with pain and trouble breathing. He underwent additional tests on Monday. LaFleur was vague about the results.

"Sometimes there's stuff that doesn't show up on all the scans," LaFleur said. "All I can tell you is he's feeling a little bit better."

Jordan Love was impressive in relief, going 6-for-9 with 113 yards and a touchdown. Green Bay scored 10 points on his two drives.

"I don't think that's what we're arguing here," LaFleur said. "It's just, we've got a lot of faith, quite frankly, in both those guys. But you know, Aaron's the starting quarterback. He's battled through a lot throughout the course of his career. It's pretty well documented, and I think he's been able to play at a pretty high level through a lot of different situations. So again, we'll take it one game at a time and make the best decision moving forward."

Aaron Rodgers Confirms Right Thumb Is Broken

Nov 23, 2022 8:22 PM

Aaron Rodgers never felt the need to get into details about his right thumb injury for one reason: It was never going to keep the Green Bay Packers quarterback from playing.

That's why it wasn't until Wednesday when he finally -- and reluctantly -- confirmed that it was indeed broken.

"It doesn't make a difference with me playing," Rodgers said. "It doesn't make a difference. You saw the tape on my thumb. Didn't make a difference."

Derek Henry First Running Back To Pass 1,000-Yards

Nov 18, 2022 2:31 AM

The Tennessee Titans showed what a total team effort looks like in a 27-17 win over the Green Bay Packers, but as is usually the case, it all started with running back Derrick Henry, who delivered in more ways than one Thursday night.

Henry ran for 87 yards, pushing his rushing yards to 1,010 this season to make him the first running back to pass the 1,000-yard mark. Henry also rushed for his 10th touchdown, becoming the fifth player in NFL history to rush for 10 or more touchdowns in five straight seasons.

Mike McCarthy Laments Penalties, Not Fourth-Down Call

Nov 14, 2022 1:17 AM

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy knows the ins and outs of Lambeau Field better than anybody, having coached for parts of 13 seasons with the Green Bay Packers.

Facing fourth-and-3 from the Green Bay 35-yard line on the first possession of overtime Sunday, McCarthy passed on trying a 53-yard field goal into the wind, with Dak Prescott instead throwing incomplete. Six plays later, the Dallas Cowboys lost 31-28 to the Packers, falling to third place in the NFC East.

Aaron Rodgers On No Trades: Win With Who We've Got

Nov 3, 2022 8:46 AM

After the Green Bay Packers failed to pull off a trade to improve their struggling offense, Aaron Rodgers understands the reality facing a team in the midst of a four-game losing streak.

"That just sent the message to us that we've got to play with the guys we've got and win with the guys we've got," Rodgers said. "I think there's still a lot of confidence in the guys in the locker room. I do feel like we need to get healthy."

If Rodgers was disappointed that Brian Gutekunst didn't land anyone before Tuesday's trade deadline, he kept that to himself during his regular Wednesday session with reporters.

"Obviously, the compensation for whatever players we were going after, it just didn't make sense," Rodgers said. "So I trust Brian and we had some good conversations and I know we were in on some things and it obviously just didn't pan out."
