Browns Plan To Ride 'Hot Hand' At Running Back

Jun 22, 2018 9:03 AM

The Cleveland Browns have a crowded backfield with Carlos Hyde, Duke Johnson and Nick Chubb.

The team's running backs coach, Freddie Kitchens, plans to ride the "hot hand" this season.

"If they are having success why would you change?" Kitchens told the team's website.

"Ultimately, all three of those guys can run our running game," he added. "Duke can do a few more things in the passing game. Ultimately, we feel like that is a position of strength. Coach [Bill] Parcells taught me a long time ago, do not turn a position of strength into a weakness. You would like to keep it a strength, and we are fortunate that is where we are."

Joe Thomas Taking His Time With Broadcasting Offers

Jun 21, 2018 10:12 AM

Joe Thomas has retired from football and is likely to enter broadcasting.

The former Cleveland Browns tackle is taking his time deciding between television offers.

"I've had some offers from FOX [and] some other networks for doing it this fall, but I think right now I just want to take time away, step back, not overcommit myself this fall," Thomas said.

"It'll be my first year away from football in a long time, so I'd rather just take little bites at the media/broadcasting apple and then see where I am at this point next year and see if it's something I want to do."

Jarvis Landry Didn't Have Good Relationship With Ryan Tannehill

Jun 14, 2018 8:25 AM

Jarvis Landry hasn't heard from Ryan Tannehill since he was traded by the Miami Dolphins and the wide receiver isn't surprised.

"I'm not surprised. We didn't really have a good relationship anyway, so I'm not surprised," Landry told NFL Network.

Landry said last week that Cleveland's quarterback situation -- with Tyrod Taylor, Baker Mayfield and Drew Stanton -- is "a lot better than what I had in Miami."

Landry, who led the NFL with 112 receptions last season and has 400 in four seasons, signed a five-year, $75 million extension with the Browns in April.

Josh Gordon: Browns Have 'Best Receiving Corps' In League

Jun 13, 2018 8:40 AM

Josh Gordon wants the Cleveland Browns to get more respect for their talented receiving corps.

"[The Browns] have the best receiving corps in the league, in my opinion, already, just based off of talent alone," Gordon said. "So you put in the playbook and some guys that are hungry enough to go do it and hopefully you can go out there and show and prove that. That's just my opinion, but we're not short on talent at the wide receiver position at all."

When pressed to respond to his teammate's assertion, Jarvis Landry doubled down, telling The Athletic, "He ain't lying."

Gordon and Landry have yet to play a game together.
