Browns Can Tie Record For Consecutive Road Losses On Sunday

Nov 21, 2018 8:42 AM

The Cleveland Browns have lost 25 straight road games and can enter history if they lose to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

The Detroit Lions hold the record with 26 consecutive road losses from 2007 to 2010.

The Browns haven't won on the road since a 33-30 overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5 of the 2015 season. They are three-point underdogs entering Sunday's game.

Browns Interested In Interviewing Condoleezza Rice For Head Coach

Nov 18, 2018 12:08 PM

The Cleveland Browns are interested in interviewing Condoleezza Rice for their head coaching job.

The NFL has never interviewed a woman for a head coaching job.

Rice is the former Secretary of State of the United States.

A potential interview hardly means the Browns will hire Rice, but they are interested in talking to her about the job and seeing what she could bring to the position and the organization.

"She's an amazing person," one Browns source told ESPN.

Todd Haley Thought He'd Be Cleveland's Interim Head Coach

Nov 9, 2018 10:01 AM

Todd Haley thought he was going to be named the interim head coach for the Cleveland Browns when Hue Jackson was fired on Oct. 29.

Sam Rutigliano told 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland that Haley, who was hired less than 10 months ago, was shocked to also be fired by the Browns.

"He said to me, 'I had no idea. When I was going back into the office I thought possibly if they were going to let Hue Jackson go, that I would have the opportunity now to be the interim coach and then get the job eventually, and that's why I came here,'" Rutigliano claims. "And then it went the opposite direction."

After firing Jackson and Haley, the Browns named Gregg Williams their interim coach.

John Dorsey Will Lead Cleveland's Head Coaching Search

Nov 8, 2018 8:03 AM

A team spokesman has confirmed that John Dorsey will lead the search for the next Cleveland Browns head coach.

Hue Jackson was fired on Oct. 29.

The decision is significant because owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam led the search to hire Jackson, and Jimmy Haslam assisted Joe Banner in the search to hire Mike Pettine and Rob Chudzinski.

None of those coaches lasted three seasons.

"Cleveland is the only job I would consider," said Arians.

Arians also recommended Chuck Pagano as a candidate.

"My guy would be Chuck Pagano," Arians said.

Arians is currently retired and working as a broadcaster for CBS.

"I don't know if anything will come of this, but the door is slightly cracked," he said.

Baker Mayfield: Browns Should Have Taken Patrick Mahomes First Overall

Nov 1, 2018 12:20 PM

Ten teams passed on Patrick Mahomes, who is the early front-runner for MVP, in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Baker Mayfield believes the Cleveland Browns, who used the No. 1 overall pick on Myles Garrett, should have taken Mahomes.

"Talent wise, I thought he should have been -- I love Myles but ...," he said. "Coming from the Texas Tech system, there are always your skeptics, people doubting the fact that all he did was sit back there and throw the ball. He threw it 88 times in our game (a 66-59 Oklahoma victory over Texas Tech), but when it comes down to it, throwing the ball is throwing the ball, and he's really good at it."
