The NFL has converged on New York City for the first round of the 2013 draft. Without two sure-fire picks, as we saw last season with Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, there promises to be a lot of drama on Thursday night.

As the action unfolds, check out Jeff Risdon's Mock Draft and see how our expert's predictions matched up with the actual picks.

Bears Don't Regret Handling Of Urlacher Situation

Jul 20, 2014 11:11 AM

Chicago Bears general manager Phil Emery doesn't regret how the contract situation between the franchise and Brian Urlacher was handled.

"Absolutely not. It was a very straight-forward process. We had a very honest and open exchange between Brian's representatives," Emery said.

"There was no lack of clarity. No surprises. Brian's been a great player, a Hall of Fame player. He's done great things for the Chicago Bears. We've committed more resources to Brian than any Bear in the history of the organization. We were willing to commit more. In the end, we just couldn't agree to what that amount was, and it's no more than that."

Bears, Cardinals Not Interested In JaMarcus Russell

Nov 7, 2014 4:05 AM

JaMarcus Russell wants to catch on with a team as a backup quarterback, but the Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals aren't options at this point.

Russell hopes to work out privately for teams when he loses enough weight, but it's debatable whether he'll get that opportunity.

Bears Leaving Door Open For Urlacher To Return

Nov 2, 2014 9:46 AM

Brian Urlacher was extremely disappointed when the Chicago Bears decided to move on from the free agent, but the franchise recently reached out to the linebacker.

After a cool-down period, chairman George McCaskey reached out to Urlacher in recent days.

"He was very gracious," he said. "Brian knows how we feel about him. He's one of the all-time great Bears. He continued the outstanding linebacker legacy with the Bears."

McCaskey did leave the door open for Urlacher's return if the right scenario presents itself.

"That's up to the market and (general manager) Phil (Emery) and (head coach) Marc (Trestman)," McCaskey said. "We'll see what happens."
