D.J. Hayden Released From Hospital

Nov 23, 2014 10:19 AM

D.J. Hayden was released from the hospital on Wednesday following surgery to remove scar tissue as a result of last November's heart surgery.

Hayden underwent emergency surgery due to a severe injury to his heart.

Hayden's doctor has stated this scar tissue is not a lingering issue of the injury but rather a result of the surgery and is rather common.

Hayden was the 12th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders.

Adrian Peterson Close To 100 Percent Recovered From Sports Hernia

Jul 15, 2014 7:21 AM

Adrian Peterson practiced on Wednesday just three months after undergoing surgery for a sports hernia.

Peterson feels as though he is close to 100 percent.

"You know, me knowing my body I'd like to be a little stronger in some areas. But I'm feeling great," he told reporters.

Peterson said returning from the sports hernia surgery is much easier than trying to come back from major knee surgery, although he "earned a lot more respect for [his] abdominal muscles."

"It was a cakewalk compared to recovering from the ACL and what I had to go through to bounce back from that," he said.

Romo Has Back Cyst Removed

Jul 5, 2014 9:33 PM

Tony Romo underwent a minor surgery on his back in April to remove a cyst.

Romo will miss the Dallas Cowboys' OTAs that begin Tuesday and last three weeks.

The team's minicamp will be held June 11-13, which Romo may also miss.

Romo expects to be ready for training camp in July.

"If this was the regular season and I had to play next week, I could,'' Romo said. "This is just about being smart. That's why I did it now. This will have no effect on training camp. No way will it have an impact. And I still think there's a good chance I'm on the field for minicamp.''
