Suggs' Achilles Approaching 100 Percent

Oct 31, 2014 6:54 AM

Terrell Suggs has made a noticeable improvement in his recovery from an Achilles injury.

"We haven't monitored or charted his explosive quotient so far, but he is getting better," Ravens coach John Harbaugh told reporters. "I think he's becoming quicker, faster, more explosive, stronger, all of those things. You can tell that it is healing, and he is just playing more like a normal, 100-percent Terrell Suggs would play.”

Suggs also tore his right biceps on Dec. 2.

Jul 1, 2014 3:09 AM

Justin Smith has been able to return from a partially torn triceps tendon in part due to a black brace covering his left arm.

“It’s a love-hate relationship right now,” Smith said. “It’s doing its job. It felt pretty strong. Doing anything a second time, it will be better than the first time. It should definitely be a lot better. A lot more comfortable.”

Smith has been the anchor of the 49ers' defense for several seasons.

Griffin Undergoes Total Reconstructive Surgery

Oct 31, 2014 7:09 AM

Robert Griffin III is undergoing total reconstructive surgery of his right knee early Wednesday morning to repair torn anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments.

Griffin, however, is expected to be ready for the 2013 regular season opener.

The torn ACL was diagnosed late Tuesday as a complete tear of the patella graft that was used to repair Griffin's torn ACL suffered at Baylor in 2009.

Griffin's recovery is projected at six to eight months, barring any setbacks, sources said.

Griffin Has Partial Tear Of ACL, LCL

Oct 4, 2014 8:17 AM

Robert Griffin III is believed to have a partial tear of his ACL and LCL in his right knee.

Griffin underwent an MRI on Monday.

Griffin suffered a torn ACL in the same knee in 2009 while he was in college at Baylor, and has been playing in recent weeks with a mild sprain of the LCL.

Griffin might have to undergo exploratory surgery to determine the extent of the damage and whether the injuries are new, according to a source.
