Dion Jordan Suspended For 2015 Season

Apr 28, 2015 1:03 PM

Dion Jordan will be suspended for the 2015 season for another substance abuse policy violation. Jordan didn't fail a drug test, but one of his test samples was diluted, which counts as a strike.

Jordan was the third overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.

Jordan was suspended for the first four games of the 2014 season and violated the policy again on Sept. 19.

The New York Jets have been fined $100,000 for tampering with Darrelle Revis, but will not lose any draft picks.

The fine comes as a result from Woody Johnson's comments that he'd "love to have Darrelle back" at a December press conference.

The Jets signed Revis to a five-year, $70 million deal this offseason.

Shane Ray Enrolled In NFL's Drug Program

Apr 28, 2015 12:53 PM

Shane Ray was cited Monday for marijuana possession and is now automatically enrolled in the behavioral portion of Phase 1 of the NFL's substance abuse program.

Ray will not face any league discipline but is subject to random drug testing. The portion of the program he is enrolled in is designed to modify his behavior as it relates to substance abuse. That is a result of Ray's being charged not for using marijuana but for possession of the substance.

Ray was a projected top-10 pick.

Last week, Ray told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that he has seen a doctor and does not need surgery on his toe, but that given time, the toe can be rehabbed.

NFLPA Appeals Greg Hardy Suspension

Apr 27, 2015 1:49 PM

The NFLPA has appealed the 10-game suspension of Greg Hardy.

Hardy received a suspension for domestic violence incident involving his former fiance.

The union is expected to claim that Roger Goodell applied the discipline retroactively under the new personal conduct policy, which was not enacted until December - seven months after Hardy was arrested on domestic violence charges.

Goodell, however, has claimed that the suspension is identical to what it would have been under the old policy for conduct detrimental to the league.

Hardy signed this offseason with the Dallas Cowboys.

Greg Hardy Suspended 10 Games By NFL

Apr 23, 2015 1:27 PM

The NFL has suspended Greg Hardy for 10 games.

"The NFL’s investigation concluded Hardy violated the Personal Conduct Policy by using physical force vs Nicole Holder in at least four instances."

Hardy left the Carolina Panthers to sign with the Dallas Cowboys this offseason.

“You should understand that another violation of this nature may result in your banishment from the NFL,” said Roger Goodell to Hardy.

If Hardy's suspension isn't reduced, his first game will be on Thanksgiving Day against the Panthers.

Adrian Peterson Unlikely To Receive Additional Suspension

Apr 9, 2015 1:30 AM

Adrian Peterson is "highly unlikely" to face further suspension by the NFL when he comes off the Commissioner's Exempt List.

Peterson reportedly wanted to "weigh in on why he believes he should not be suspended, why he should not face additional penalty when he comes off this list."

Peterson agreed to a plea deal in November.

"Peterson wants to have a completely clean slate by the draft," Rapoport said. "His point: The Minnesota Vikings have held strong in saying they do not plan on trading Adrian Peterson. They believe he will play for them in 2015. In fact, they want him to play for either them or no one else.

"However, if they are to be tempted with a trade," Rapoport said, "it is going to come at the time of the draft and Peterson wants to make sure there are no obstacles to him getting on the field in 2015, just in case another team decides to come calling -- maybe like the Cardinals, maybe like the Cowboys."
