Miles Sanders: 'Almost Every Running Back Is Underpaid Right Now'

Jun 30, 2023 10:30 AM

Miles Sanders is the latest running back to criticize the market for the position.

Sanders signed a four-year, $25.4 million deal with the Carolina Panthers this offseason. He received $13 million guaranteed, but the $6.35 million average per year is far less than in past years.

"It's nothing that we're doing wrong," Sanders said. "We're doing everything that we have to do as far as on the field and stuff like that. For people and GMs or owners to think that running backs are not as valued as much is a lie because you've got to see how everything plays out. You've got to see what guys like Christian McCaffrey, the stuff he does, things that Saquon Barkley (does), the things that Josh Jacobs (does) consistently each year. ...

"You want to franchise tag and create a certain market for running backs just because you have this way of thinking that they only last three or four years. I think it's B.S., honestly. Almost every running back is underpaid right now. I don't know what it's gonna take. That's a topic that needs to be brought up a little more because it sucks to be a running back right now, honestly."

Colts Cut Gamblers Due To 'Integrity Of The Game'

Jun 30, 2023 10:27 AM

The Indianapolis Colts have released Isaiah Rodgers and Rashod Berry after the pair were suspended for the 2023 season for violating the NFL's gambling policy.

Chris Ballard said the team stands unequivocally for "the integrity of the game."

"We ... made the roster moves as a consequence of the determination that these players violated the league's gambling policy," Ballard said in a team statement. "The integrity of the game is of the utmost importance. As an organization we will continue to educate our players, coaches and staff on the policies in place and the significant consequences that may occur with violations."

Travis Kelce Estimates 50% to 80% Of NFL Players Use Cannabis

Jun 29, 2023 9:34 AM

Travis Kelce told Vanity Fair that he estimates around 50 percent to 80 percent of NFL players use cannabis.

The tight end says that under the more lenient policy the NFL implemented in 2021, it's easy for players to use marijuana in the offseason and stop before testing begins.

"If you just stop in the middle of July, you're fine," he said. "A lot of guys stop a week before and they still pass because everybody's working out in the heat and sweating their tail off. Nobody's really getting hit for it anymore."

Kelce tested positive for marijuana and was suspended for the entire 2010 season during his time at the University of Cincinnati.

Jerry Jeudy: Broncos WRs Going To Be Hard To Stop

Jun 29, 2023 9:29 AM

While injuries have hampered the Denver Broncos' wide receiver corps in recent years, Jerry Jeudy believes the group will be hard to stop in 2023.

Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick and KJ Hamler have all played in the same game just twice in the past three years.

The importance of all four being healthy heading into the first season of the Sean Payton era isn't lost on Jeudy.

"It means a lot," Jeudy said. "We haven't been all on the same field in [how long], since my rookie year? So you know, it's been a tough few years. But having everybody on the field at the same time, it's going to be big, because I know what we're capable of, and they know what we're capable of. So having everybody on the same field is going to be a hard group of guys to stop."

Police Report: Tyreek Hill Offered Alleged Assault Victim $200

Jun 29, 2023 9:24 AM

Tyreek Hill offered the 57-year-old man whom the wide receiver allegedly slapped on June 18 a sum of $200 in the time after the incident, according to the police report.

Per the report, the dispute happened when Hill and others entered a docked private boat. The captain of the boat told them to leave. Hill allegedly said to the captain, "I can buy you and the boat."

During the dispute, an employee of Kelley Fishing Fleet walked over to the scene. Hill allegedly slapped that employee on the back of the neck.

Surveillance footage backs up the versions offered by the boat captain and the employee who was struck. The employee later identified Hill in a photo lineup.

Before Hill left the scene, he was heard telling an "associate" to give the alleged victim $200. The alleged victim did not accept the money.
