Singletary: I'm Looking For A More Conventional Offense

Oct 26, 2014 4:11 PM

Mike Singletary conducted his end of season press conference on Wednesday and revealed his offensive strategy for the future. Singletary said his approach to offense is "more run to pass." In firing Mike Martz, Singletary said he was looking to establish a more conventional offense. Singletary said he wants to establish an offense that was more similar to what coach Bill Walsh implemented with the 49ers in the past. But, Singletary said, he is not a 3-yard-and-a-cloud-of-dust kind of guy.

Shockey: I'm Going To Work With Brees In The Off-Season

Oct 14, 2014 9:43 PM

Jeremy Shockey's first season with the Saints was a relative disappointment, but he says he's prepared to work hard this offseason. "I'm going to do a lot of work with Drew (Brees)," Shockey said. "I'm going to be here working with these guys. I haven't done that in five or six years, and I'm not saying that I didn't make the right decision in the past. Just here, I think it would benefit myself and the team a lot more than it would if I was playing, doing the one up in New York. "So I'm going to still work out in Miami, that's the normal plan, but really show my face and come around here a lot more than I've ever done in my whole career." RealGM Note: Despite missing four weeks due to injury, Shockey was ranked 18th amongst tight ends in season FIC and had a +0% Reina Value. He didn't score a touchdown for the first time in his career, and his 9.7 yards per catch was his second worst output.

The San Diego Chargers announced today they will wear their Powder Blue alternate uniforms in the AFC Wild Card Playoff Game against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday, Jan. 3. The announcement was unexpected because after the team last wore the uniforms in the game against the Oakland Raiders on Thursday night, Dec. 4, the jerseys were sent to the National Football League office in New York where they were to be auctioned off for charity on NFL.com. ?It took some doing, but we were able to get the jerseys back just before they hit the auction site,? said A.G. Spanos, the Chargers? executive vice president & executive officer. ?We hope by wearing these special alternate uniforms, it will help generate added excitement for both our players as well as our fans and give us an even stronger home-field advantage.? After the game, the team plans to return the jerseys to the League where they will be auctioned off on NFL.com to benefit Chargers Charities and Chargers Champions, their education and fitness community initiative.

Angela Nazario claims she brought the couple's son to visit Larry last October when the former lovers began arguing. Nazario alleges in legal papers filed in Arizona that Fitzgerald attempted to "diffuse the situation" by raising his fist and challenging her to a play fight. Nazario admits she responded by swinging at him and "may have hit his face." Fitzgerald then turned enraged, allegedly pushing Nazario down to her knees. She claims he "grabbed me by my hair with both hands on the back of my head very very hard and tossed me across the room."
