Pete Carroll, Seahawks Negotiating Extension

Feb 28, 2016 11:56 AM

The Seattle Seahawks and Pete Carroll are negotiating a contract extension.

Carroll is entering the final season of a three-year deal he signed after the Seahawks won the Super Bowl.

Carroll is 64 and has reinvented himself as one of the NFL's most philosophically open and psychologically agile coaches.

There has been speculation that Carroll could retire after the 2016 season with Tom Cable in line to replace him.

Marshawn Lynch Telling Friends He'll Retire

Feb 7, 2016 12:44 PM

Marshawn Lynch has been telling those close to him he plans on retiring from the NFL this offseason.

Some of his teammates are attempting to convince Lynch to change his mind.

Lynch turns 30 in April and was limited to just 111 carries and 417 yards in the regular season due to a hamstring injury.

Lynch didn't play in the Seattle Seahawks' Wild Card win over the Minnesota Vikings and he rushed for 20 yards on six carries in the Divisional Round against the Carolina Panthers.

In January, Seahawks general manager John Schneider revealed that Lynch was "leaning toward" retirement, and those feelings have only strengthened.
