Gabbert Plans To Fight For Starting Job With Jaguars

Sep 5, 2014 8:09 AM

Blaine Gabbert knows he won't enter training camp as the team's unquestioned starter, but he plans to fight for the job with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He is 5-19 after two years as the starter.

The Jaguars are expected to draft a quarterback to compete with Gabbert.

"The best guy is going to win," Gabbert said. "That's why this sport is so intriguing to people and so fun to be a part of. The competition is daily. Every practice will be a mini-game. You need to put your best foot forward regardless of the situation. That uncomfortable feeling is a good feeling and that's why good teams are successful -- because they have that competition.

"It's going to be a blast."

Flynn Trade Unlikely Until After First Day Of Draft

Oct 13, 2014 4:06 AM

The Seattle Seahawks have put Matt Flynn on the trade market and they reportedly have interest from as many as three teams.

The Jaguars, Bills and Raiders have been linked to Flynn, but they also have top-10 draft picks with an eye on a quarterback.

That means Seattle is unlikely to find a trade partner until after the first day of next month's NFL Draft, when the trio of teams could fill their vacancy with a rookie.
