Garrard Will Miss Jaguars' Important Finale

Jul 31, 2014 2:18 PM

The Jaguars will not have quarterback David Garrard in Sunday's important season finale against the Texans. Garrard will have surgery on the middle finger of his right hand Thursday. Trent Edwards is expected to start in his place. Jacksonville needs to beat Houston and have Tennessee upset Indianapolis to win the AFC South. Garrard likely would miss a first-round playoff game if the Jaguars (8-7) make the postseason.

Jaguars To Be Without Sims-Walker

Sep 8, 2014 5:10 AM

The Jaguars will be without wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker on Sunday against the Titans because of a high right ankle sprain. Sims-Walker, who sprained his ankle three weeks ago in the second quarter against the Texans, will remain in Jacksonville getting treatment. "It's hard to go out there when you're not healthy, 100 percent, and you're playing against some of the best guys in the world," Sims-Walker said. "Pro Bowlers and whoever you're going against. I tried to gut it out, man, but I could tell it's just not me."
