Maurice Jones-Drew will not be charged for his role in an alleged fight over Memorial Day weekend.

Jones-Drew was accused of punching a bouncer.

"Based on the facts and the law, the state cannot establish the charge beyond and to the exclusion of all reasonable doubt," the state attorney's office said in the statement, which was obtained by News4Jax.com in Jacksonville.

Jones-Drew is trying to return from a Lisfranc injury in his right foot.

Luke Joeckel has signed his rookie contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Joeckel was the second overall pick in April's draft.

Joeckel receives a four-year, $21.2 million deal that is completely guaranateed.

The Jaguars hope Joeckel and Eugene Monroe give the offensive line an excellent tandem at tackle. Joeckel will begin his career at right tackle.

The New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs are interested in signing Demond Bishop.

Bishop was released by the Green Bay Packers on Monday.

“The Giants and Jacksonville are the next two that are interested,’’ Bishop said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “Actually, the Niners called but of course, you know, they’re kind of set over there. I appreciate their interest in me regardless. But the Giants, which is a real good situation, and Jacksonville as well.”

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been awarded a waiver claim on Mike Kafka.

Kafka was released by the New England Patriots on Monday to clear roster spot for Tim Tebow.

Kafka was a fourth round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010.

Kafka becomes the fifth quarterback on the Jaguars roster.

The Dallas Cowboys also claimed Kafka.

Beanie Wells worked out for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday.

Wells was released by the Arizona Cardinals in March.

Maurice Jones-Drew is still rehabilitating from foot surgery and the Jaguars lack experience at running back.

Wells visited with the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers back in March, but a source said he took a bad physical.
