Brian Flores addressed recent reports tying the Miami Dolphins to a potential trade for Deshaun Watson, telling his players and staff that Tua Tagovailoa is "our quarterback" in a brief but poignant message.

Steve Ross has not shown any interest in trading for Watson, contrary to other reports Tuesday.

The Dolphins selected Tagovailoa with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 draft.

The New York Jets have acquired pass rusher Shaq Lawson in a trade with the Houston Texans, according to sources.

New York is sending a 2022 sixth-round pick to Houston.

The move comes after the Jets lost Carl Lawson to a season-ending ruptured Achilles.

The allegations of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior against Deshaun Watson are being investigated by the FBI, according to the quarterback's lawyer, Rusty Hardin.

Hardin said that Watson spoke to the FBI about allegations of extortion regarding one of the 23 lawsuits filed against the quarterback, of which 22 are still active.

"In April, the FBI came to us and told us they were investigating a matter as to whether one of Mr. [Tony] Buzbee's clients had committed extortion in the way they were demanding money from Deshaun or what they would do if they didn't pay it," Hardin said in a news conference.

"We were not the ones who contacted them; they contacted us. We talked to [the FBI]. We even let them interview Deshaun -- and if y'all can find a lawyer that will let his client talk to the FBI if the lawyer had thought his client had done anything wrong or had any exposure, then I'll be very, very surprised."

Deshaun Watson didn't practice again on Tuesday, but David Culley says the Houston Texans quarterback isn't injured.

"Deshaun is here," Culley said. "Again, every day he's here, he comes in, and he works. He does what we ask him to do and he's here every day and he's doing fine."

Watson reported to camp July 25 after requesting a trade in January. He practiced for the first five days of training camp, was not on the field for the next five days and then returned for all four days of the third week of practice. He didn't practice Monday either.

Less than two months after his trade request, the first of 23 lawsuits was filed against Watson. He currently faces 22 active lawsuits with allegations of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior.

There is no timetable for a resolution of the criminal complaints levied against Deshaun Watson.

Subpoenas are being issued for a grand jury regarding the 10 criminal complaints, but not much light has been shed on the situation otherwise.

Deshaun Watson is "unlikely to play" in the Houston Texans' preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers "based on the limited reps he's had in practice," coach David Culley said Tuesday.
