The Houston Texans are posturing that they have no intention of trading Deshaun Watson despite his wish to move on this offseason.

“Zero interest in trading the player,” GM Nick Caserio said.

When asked by John McClain of the Houston Chronicle about the plan for salvaging the relationship with Watson, Caserio said that the “best way is to communicate and be honest and be forthright.”

Watson signed an extension with the Texans before the start of the 2020 season.

The Carolina Panthers will be "aggressive" in pursuit of Deshaun Watson, who has formally requested a trade from the Houston Texans.

The Panthers have the No. 8 overall pick, which could headline a potential package for Watson.

Deshaun Watson has requested a trade from the Houston Texans, sources have confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The request came weeks ago, but the decision to hire David Culley as head coach will not alter his thinking. Watson hasn't spoken to new Texans general manager Nick Caserio or executive Jack Easterby. The trade request comes after Watson was reportedly unhappy with the process used by the team to hire Caserio in early January.

Watson signed a four-year, $156 million contract extension with the Texans in September. 

The Houston Texans will hire David Culley as head coach.

Culley has been assistant head coach and passing game coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens over the past two seasons.

Culley, 65, has never been a head coach before. Cully worked under Andy Reid for almost two decades.

The Houston Texans have announced they are engaging Jim Caldwell and Josh McCowan about their head coaching vacancy.

The Texans have explored the idea of hiring McCown as head coach while surrounding him with at least one former head coach on his staff.

McCown finished the 2020 season with the Texans as a backup quarterback and has no prior experience coaching.

Deshaun Watson appears likely to be traded this offseason as he has grown increasingly frustrated with the Houston Texans.

"There is a growing sense from people in and around the Texans’ organization that Deshaun Watson has played his last snap for the team. It’s early in the off-season, there’s a lot of time left, but Watson’s feelings cannot and should not be underestimated," writes Adam Schefter.

Watson signed a four-year, $160 million contract extension with the Texans before the 2020 season.

"It's gone from the least desirable head coaching job (opening) to the most undesirable head coaching job in the NFL. That's a fact. That's how that job is now looked at by everybody," said one source connected to Houston's head coaching search.

Former Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson tweeted his thoughts on Deshaun Watson's displeasure with the franchise on Tuesday, saying "If I'm [Watson], I will stand my ground."

"The Texans organization is known for wasting players careers," Johnson wrote. "Since Jack Easterby has walk into the building nothing good has happened in/for the organization and for some reason someone can't seem to see what's going on. Pathetic!!!"

Johnson, the Texans' franchise leader in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns, played for Houston from 2003 to 2014.

The Houston Texans have requested an interview with Eric Bieniemy. 

Bieniemy will not be able to interview with the team until next week at the earliest. Bieniemy was available to interview with the Jets, Jaguars, Chargers, Falcons, and Lions last week because the Chiefs were on a bye.

The Houston Texans are the only team with a head coaching vacancy not to request an interview with Eric Bieniemy. Furthermore, they decided not to interview Bieniemy despite Deshaun Watson advocating for him.

Patrick Mahomes had put in a strong word for Bieniemy with Watson.

The Texans had told Watson he would be involved in the general manager and head coaching search, but he has apparently been entirely shut out.

Deshaun Watson is "extremely unhappy" with the Houston Texans following the hiring of Nick Caserio as general manager.

Owner Cal McNair had informed Watson he would be involved in the hiring process for both their next general manager and coach to give feedback, but did neither in the decision to hire Caserio. 

Watson doesn't object to the decision to hire Caserio as much as he is the process.
