The Green Bay Packers are on the verge of bringing back Randall Cobb in a trade with the Houston Texans, according to a source.

Cobb, who will turn 31 on Aug. 22, played his first eight seasons in Green Bay, where he was one of Aaron Rodgers' go-to receivers.

The trade no doubt will include a contract restructuring for Cobb, who was scheduled to make $8.25 million this season.

The NFL announced they will not move to limit the participation of Deshaun Watson in football activities as they  continue to investigate a series of sexual assault allegations against him.

“The NFL’s review of the serious allegations against Deshaun Watson remains ongoing and active,” the statement said. “We are work cooperatively with the Houston Police Department and ensuring that the NFL’s inquiry does not interfere with their investigation. As we continue to gather additional information and monitor law enforcement developments, we will make appropriate decisions consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Personal Conduct Policy.  At this time there are no restrictions on Watson’s participation in club activities.”

The NFL has not been given access to many of the plaintiffs in the civil suits or other parties with relevant information, a source tells ProFootballTalk.

The Houston Texans are now willing to listen to trade offers for Deshaun Watson and will seek at least three first round picks and more.

Watson reported to camp with the Texans on Sunday after spending the entire offseason seeking a trade. Watson would still like a trade from Houston.

Watson has a no-trade clause and also is the defendant on approximately 20 sexual assault lawsuits. 

Watson finished the 2020 season with 4,823 yards and a 70.2 completion percentage to go with 33 touchdowns against seven interceptions. Watson also rushed for 444 yards and three touchdowns. 

Deshaun Watson reported to training camp Sunday in order to avoid a $50,000 daily fine. Watson, however, still wants to be traded by the Texans.

Teams can no longer forgive fines, and Watson would have been fined $50,000 for every day he was absent from camp.

Watson first asked to be traded in January after the Texans hired Nick Caserio as their general manager.

The Chicago Bears have agreed to trade Anthony Miller to the Houston Texans.

Miller had been in trade rumors since April. 

Miller was a second round pick out of Memphis in 2018. In 2020, Miller caught 49 balls for 485 yards and two touchdowns.
